  1. Living in a new build apartment with no ventilation which is currently still at 29c with the fan being on all-day while inside it was in the 30s id love to just have a garden/House as everyone I know that has an actual house or an older apartment with less insulation ad my place seems to suffer considerably less its like sleeping in an oven here at the best of time I'm worried about my 2little conures for next Sunday/Monday meant to be at 24c rook temp as an ideal though my 2 redfooted torts will be loving life
  2. My physical track knowledge is.not.my area of expertise im not a engineer unfortunately
  3. 38.2c at Santon Downham, on 18th July Suffolk ill punt for, I was stuck between there and 1 or 2 other locations further SW but as no-one mentioned it I'll go for it my bets in.
  4. Usually cooler than NW Kent Gravesend broadness was as theyre more affected by coastal sea breezes and no Downs Foehn effect/ close to M25 urban heat effect etc
  5. See my previous posts its impossible with no official recording stations in the warmest part of our region anymore unfortunately Station scrapped as per my previous replies on this.
  6. As an employee of the railway- its because most of the old routes we run train services are not powered by overhead electricity AC like they are abroad around mainland Europe etc ours are old and built on old Victorian railways systems some of the oldest tracks in the world we have, dont forget it would take years to replace them and switch them over to overheads like the High speed trains run on for example so there wouldn't be any train services to main routes for a long time if they were to be replaced as they would have to be shut for years to switch over. So we have to make do with DC 3rd rail electric powered trains unfortunately which need constant maintenance but if Grant Shapps and Co get there way we will be running unsafe train services and there will be much more cancellations and delays caused by cutting maintenance and safety aspects of Train operating companies!
  7. They scrapped our official weather recording station here which pains me as we always used to be the hottest in these setups! As a delivery driver I went to Cambridge Heathrow and London on the hottest day at Cambridge botanical Garden and I can tell u my van temp was hotter here by a degree! Compared to all of those but not officially recorded!
  8. We probably will be hottest as usually are unless there's an Easterly/NEly but unfortunately it's not officially recorded here as they got rid of our only official met office station so we will never know what Kent records so I'd guess somewhere else its so annoying as a local weather extreme fanatic!
  9. Brentwoods one of those funny places whenever I drive there my car temp drops by 2c compared to say thames side Thurrock and here in NW Kent whenever u get wet snow there in winter we get sleet or rain your more rural and elevated. Nice place but I find it very "Towie" Never seen so many people touching their hair on the same visit
  10. Sods law if it happens on the 19th I've cancelled 2 fishing boat trips already due to storms this last 18months!! Please make it the 20th
  11. I swear my location by the Thames has its own microclimate. We have a cement works right near me a tile factory fuel and gas depots around me too, even in winter when every where even a few 100metres up the road has snow and frost we have nothing. We had the least snow during the Beast from the east that I know of nom ore than a max of maybe 4.5inches at the height of it while places just 3 or 4 miles away had double this or more. Were always warmer in winter as often a frost is forecast and I don't ever have to scrape my car say 1c is forecast I know I'm always safe from having to car scrape as here my thermometers still normally at 3 or 4c. I know my weather station is not the most technical but it definitely feels much hotter than 27-28c here today I posted in model output discussion yesterday saying we need another weather station between Dartford and Gravesend which often recorded the countries highest temps before they dismantled our only weather station, were flat, urban and suffer the sandy North Downs Foehn effect here so I'm pretty sure my weather station isn't far from the actual temp its def atleast 30c here just a shame we will never know the truth BBC and Met always forecast temps much lower than the actual temp here when I used to drive through all of London and Heathrow every day my van temp was always higher here than both those locations unless we had a Easterly wind or Northeasterly or during Spring for example when the North Sea is coldest.
  12. Always makes me laugh how they called it the beast from the east yet we only had 4inches of snow As a max at any one time due to the ESEly air flow meaning most the heavy snow showers fell further north. Was impressive for depth of cold for a few days but not as impressive as over a foot of snow in late November 2010! That was unbelievable. I'm hoping ECM has this as although it's still hot I really fear for the health of people in Eastern Central and Southern regions of England if GFS comes off!
  13. It was just a light humorous comment. Wow you can rent a flat for that up north. I went to uni not far from there in Herts when I first got hooked on this forum all thise years ago. Yes good to advise on these things given the model outputs atm.
  14. Wow I can really tell u live in a wealthy part of NW London. I never have a SPARE £500 lol I did just look at it and you get 10% off also but for a week or 2 usage each year I'm not sure on it ive seen some in the £200 range although not necessarily as good as the one you mention
  15. Can someone have a word with the Met maybe someone reading this I feel we badly need another station in NW Kent after the removal of our only one Gravesend Broadness a few years ago now. In southerly and South-westerly wind flows we so often recorded the highest temps, it also appears the apps aren't great for out area- I used to drive to Heathrow every day for work and much more often than not it was hotter here than at Heathrow despite BBC and Met apps etc showing it 2 or 3c warmer at Heathrow as we have a bit of a Foehn effect from the Downs to our South and SW. A case in point now my outdoor temp however accurate it may be as I havent got a Stevenson screen set up orr anything technical but still it shows temps 4c higher than BBC is showing now and ir feels much warmer than 25c I can assure you. I've never known the shade temp to be more than 1c too warm either when compared against any official met recordings prior to the dismantling of Gravesend Broadness weather station.
  16. I had 42/43c too when I lived in Melbourne New years Daym was still 32c at midnight sweating buckets!
  17. Much higher levels of UV in the Mediterranean too
  18. Not sure it will be just for fun looks realistic perhaps I assume BBC is using ECM
  19. This literally was almost a carbon copy of what i posted on my Facebook story earlier. I live in a new build its even worse than most people that have houses over insulated to the max i.never even need the heating on winter if only I could afford a house! My sisters mums and dads all much bettere than these apartments sandwiches together its awful here even today my place is currently 28c! Imagine if we get to high 30s/40c!
  20. Hope you/GFS are wrong every time I book a fishing boat trip in advance it gets cancelled due to windy conditions this time 19th July
  21. Absolutely.love the hottest day of the year to be on my birthday 18z a shade down but still hot and for those into folklore dont forget its also the famous St swithuns Day. Last 30+bday I had was on the last World cup footy finals day was 32c here this would top that!
  22. Dyou know what I've only ever seen 3 weather condition types in Devon and never rainfall!. April 1998 I was there for the first time hoping to travel to Cornwall but we had to turn back as there was a heavy snowfall! Everyone was saying how rare it is in the winter let alone in April time!!!. I've been South Devon 6 times now! including a few days ago and only saw blue sky one day it reached 30c surprisingly your right it's usually cooler but very pleasant whenever I visit the weathers perfect the occasional cloudy day when I came a few years ago but that was in early March!Still had no rain then either like the other times I've visited haha. what are the chances in 6 visits only seeing snow and sun in Devon!! My other halves dad is moving to possibly Brixham lager in the year too. Never had so many cream teas. Perhaps you need me to come back to bring the Kentish heat again Funny thing is I'm kff work for 3 weeks again in a few days and the weathers looping glorious down here. WIMBLEDON and the Kent and Sussex coasts here I come. Wouldnt wsnt to live anywhere else in summer time. We have naff snowless winters after all didnt see a flake the enter just gone so we gotta make it up with our sunny summers
  23. Thanks very much im off from Monday until 24th July getting a bit of overtime before then. Does this weather channel app still use GFS by looks spot on im off to Wimbledon next week
  24. 32c was touted earlier at Heathrow dropped to 31c now. UKV is crazy 36c in Eastern England!
