  1. Perhap CFS latest run is the right path into February nice Greenland blocking and a battleground event to potentially end the cold spell
  2. Personally I thought they did ok for the December snowfall down here atleast on some of the runs that I saw beforehand and I remember another recent year they did better than GFS and ECM here but yeah best to take with a pinch of salt just nice to see it showing even if it is false hope
  3. Love to see the latest 0z GEM verify- Most areas at some point seeing a little of the white stuff especially Midlands EA and the SE late January and this week some for the NW/NE,SW& W England Scotland N Ireland Wales and west Midlands
  4. Appeared from nowhere but noticed some light flurries have reached Bedfordshire/ Bucks and I'm on night shifts atm finish 6am so will know if it reaches us! Light top up for the Downs peaks perhaps after the ice day.
  5. IAfter my 12hr night shift in Dartford I decided on a drive 15mins away to New Ash Green and a little stroll in the snow. Excuse the tired sounding voice 20230116_063759.mp4
  6. Radars very green and turning red over the snowy downs. SM has been posting on twitter I do wish he hadnt had that row with the northerners on the model output thread a few years back which resulted in him leaving the forum! SE legend
  7. GFS still flys the flag for some snow! Albeit not huge amounts in the S&E. N Wales and N UK showing the most but it would be nice if GFS was right against other models showing rain!!
  8. Some snow accumulation snapshots on GFS and GEM this morning surprised to see some still in the SE 16th and a little on both models 19th January with a nice amount around Dorset. I hope ECM etc revives interest but even the Met wording has changed to mostly dry and sunny I guess thats 2nd best after the white stuff this time of year though
  9. Some interest in a light covering of the white stuff for some of our region still showing on the American models this mornings GFS& GEM runs- GFS shows 16th Jan for mainly Sussex Kent and Surrey and both models show a small area 19th Jan
  10. Wish I was born in your generation or even earlier coulda got myself a nice mortgage rather than renting a flat, coulda seen a proper winter for once none of the 90s dross i went to school in. I coulda seen Spurs win trophies!! Even 2008 I was living in Melbourne at the time gave my ticket to the final to my sis. Next year i went we lost on penalties to United
  11. The last time I was on night shifts (I mainly work outside) was when we had the snow in December I was shovelling for 3 or 4 hours but loved every min except my back felt it! After all the mild miserable conditions since Guess what shifts im back on this weekend-Nights! So it can snow all it wants as far as i care Blue Monday is upon us so we need some cheer i do feel sorry for those born near xmas/winter when not much is open but i do wish u all a Happy birthday! The white stuff would make it much more special for us coldies. Most my dads family live in Melbourne Australia having emmigrated from Mauritius where my dads from. I spent 6months there after uni in their summer and missed winter here which was weird they dont get snow but do in the mountains which are pretty.elevatee i get most mt leave in their winter maybe i go and do some winter sports there one year instead of summer there when i can only get 1 week off of work. Though Im a July baby my bday is the famous weather related St Swithuns day (only seen rain on 3 occasions that I can remember) and I normally spend it at the beach or sea fishing or something we had world cup and wimbledon finals one year a few years back! My 2 fave sports footy and tennis around that time I always book 2 or 3 weeks leave then!
  12. Mostly rain on that away from hilly N/W of M4 areas id rather it goes south for more areas to see colder air
  13. -7c uppers on the op as far south as here at an earlier timeframe? Latest GFS ensembles
  14. Doesnt the GFS show sleet as snow too? To me this suggests at this timeframe atleast rain and sleet away from N/NW Hills perhaps colder in next few frames
  15. Wait coldest uppers over Kent from a PM flow whats going on maybe were in the game for some surprise white stuff
  16. 2 pronged attack? One warming followed by another is this what CFS is suggesting?
  17. CFS has been flipping around back and forth the past few runs latest shows a reversal later in February. Cold start to March as it so often is?
  18. Awww i read it was reported as snow but later dismissed as likely hail by the Met, but 6inches deep! Crazy I wouldn't have known meterology at 10years old lol
  19. I remember when I was young there was a big snowfall in August around my mums bday in Sheffield I think it was never seen it in July (my birthday)
  20. Hopefully it gets so inflated and further north in a few years it becomes a scandi- Griceland permanent high instead lol
  21. Im going tomorrow almost had a spare ticket as my long time friend hadnt messaged me back for 3 days so I had to resort to inviting my gooner friends who actually is now coming . I see your in Paris how was the warmth there today apparently islt was 17c my friend in rouen said crazy!
