  1. I still have nightmares about that rain and occasional sleet fest south of the Thames/M4 along with that late January spell a couple years back which gave snow to Central London Surrey Herts etc but it was sleet and non settling snow that then turned to rain here East/SE of London
  2. Will the Met Warning be off a bit tomorrow surprised it doesnt cover more of our region tomorrow! On Tuesday it started hammering down here for nearly an hour at midday when the initial warning was due to expire! Now im not even in the warning area tomorrow
  3. ECM 12z looks suspect between days 8 and 9 to me from a 850s perspective atleast. Look at the SE of Sweden and the Baltic sea area- in 24hours it jumps from -10 to +8c surely thats a jump too far?
  4. Currently looks great for my 3days away in Sweden the back end of November
  5. The blocking last December gave us more snow than the beast from the east gave here in my area in one fall, the biggest fall since 2010 for my area
  6. Im off to the pine forests west of Stockholm 28th-30th November I hope it remains but not getting my hopes up! It may have peaked too early for my arrival Ive been checking CFS runs etc and am looking forward to GFS to get within range! A few more runs to the 28th Nov!
  7. Batten down the hatches my fellow Southeasterners. Anyone else done one of these Ancestry tests theres a xmas sale on already. Ive discovered so many people I'm related to that were either friends or work colleagues its crazy funny thing is my dads not English! My Nans from Sussex grandads from East Kent. The family tree is superb they find 1000s potential names for you when you start a family tree! My grandad took rainfall recordings for Thanet he was a dairy farmer near Ashford/Canterbury
  8. 2009-10 for us although very cold across all areas was a bit of teaser winter for us in the far SE corner we narrowly missed the huge snow event central Southern England and even parts of Surrey got. We had great snowfalls here Feb 09 and then Nov-December 2010. 2winters which werent quite as cold but more memorable for us anyway
  9. If only we were a few 100miles further SE! Southern Germany even places like Alsace, France could be under the white stuff on that GFS 0z run looks pretty spectacular for October for our European cousins if you're of a wintry persuasion
  10. Thanks GFS that will do 17-18c for my trip to Great nannas home town, Battle to see the Battle of Hastings re-enactment on the anniversary of the famous 1066 battle. I spy 20c in East Kent where my mums from It's not all doom and gloom
  11. Hamza- The face representing Argyle I see he's going down like a Scottish flooded balloon. My nannas from Sussex so genetically I'm as much from there Arpege showing 26c. Hope you've got your dinghy I prefer visiting Scotland and the North in winter when there's more chance of the ever elusive ❄🌨A shame the jacobite railways shut then though!
  12. No downgrade here in Kent 25c and 26c I couldn't live in the far North how depressing
  13. Off to Dover Castle today with mum even the BBC forecast had changed for the better today at short notice
  14. Plenty of sunny days ahead down here looking at the models, cannot believe my luck June 2022 had 33c and blue skies in Devon when I was there and this June 32c!! I have a friend there who says they always know when im in the county as its always clear blue skies and sunny do you want me to move there? Lol seems a craze I know quite a few people looking to move to the SW from here I know we do usually have better weather here though
  15. Another summery day in the mid 20s here in NW Kent long may it continue Sunday looks similar atm maybe have to head for one final beach trip of the year or go at the marina
  16. I was off work during the West UK June 32c heatwave in Devon with some local records broken last June also when I was in Devon was 33c! (7 visits to Devon in March April and June and never seen rain!) 6 sunshine mainly and hot temps most occasions and the April Visit a very very rare snowstorm that stopped us visiting Cornwall until this year when i finally made it there! I was in Dorset this July and despite it being a wet month it was dry while i was there with ressonable temps, I was in Cornwall 1st week of September in the astonishing heatwave. Guess what im off from 30th September for a few days. Wby does this latest GFS output and sthe other models ensembles not surprise me it seems to know when im off.
  17. ECM ends with warm SEly winds a huge swathe of +16s to our south. Anyway able to estimate the expected temps in late Sept under such a set up? Mid 20s?
  18. Crazy was there a cold front in the last hour? I left Bexley it was 29c got home changed went back out and it was only 25c! I notice tonight still looks very warm 20c until 3am on Met app
  19. It was 33c and the thermometer carried on increasing to that at 1.30pm when I arrived in Dartford my cars rarely ever more than 1c too high so 33c easily will be reached here and there by the looks of it another hour of potential heating to go likely
  20. At work suns now a little hazy but atill very oppressive 31c according to accuweather here in Dartford please build another weather station in NW Kent!!
  21. While people are reporting cloudy skies and cooler temps than yesterday here in NW Kent by the Thames this is by far the most humid oppressive day so far the suns out albeit a very slight haze and weve lost our refreshing Easterly of yesterday and have a light WNWly drift I can tell by the turbines across the Thames in Essex. #bringbackGravesendbroadness already top dog here today!
  22. Absolutely stifling and more humod than yesterday here in Gravesend Broadness area aka former record breaking weather recording site not looling forward to a late shift outside in this with no aircon today in Dartford though atleast ill stock up on vitamin D. It was pleasant in Gravesend yesterday with thr Easterly breeze which has departed now sadly maybe here today will be hotter than Saturday as BBC apps showing Easterlies again? Who knows we have our own micro climate here
  23. Not Quite as warm for the northwest perhaps but for parts of the South and East it will be hotter than June it was 32c when I was in Devon while back home it wasn't as hot, high 20s in Cornwall when I left earlier impressive for there! And 30c in Central Southern England on the way back GFS showing 33c here Wednesdays just as I'm arriving home! A whole week of 30s in some West London stations surely a September record!
