  1. Was enjoying the heat wave a while back - a wee bit sad to see it go but the current fare is pleasant enough. Now approaching my favourite time of year. Lingering days begin to give way to darker nights and more unsettled fare. Warm sunny weather is great but there's something in the changing seasons that's enjoyable to watch. If we had anything here akin to the Danish concept of hyggelig, I'd say for me that was it. Don't know why, it just is.
  2. A bit of a damp squib in Glasgow. Some heavy rain, plenty rumbles, a few flickers of lightning, and that was it. Brightening up now.
  3. Heavy rain and frequent low booms from the sky now in Glasgow. It had went very dark for a while too.
  4. Not a good couple of days to be stuck on night shift, but the hot stuff will still be around at the weekend. Is there a breakdown looming in August then? Still struggling to remember the last time we had it so good. Someone mentioned July 2006, seems a good shout. Spring was nice that year too I believe.
  5. Cooler and cloudy here in Glasgow today. After the last week or so, and the 7 or 8 days that are predicted to come, I think I'll take it.
  6. Can't remember the last time we had it so good for so long. This is to extend into the week after next? Stunning.
  7. Can't believe what's happening on Arran. Looks mental over there. Any more predicted for the Glasgow are this week?
  8. Speaking of previous March's, does anyone remember a heavy snowfall in mid-March 2006? It was on a Saturday night and the police had to force a night club to stay open to provide shelter for hundreds of people stranded in Glasgow city Centre because the snow had forced all the taxis off the road.
  9. Been light snow here for most of the day, but conversely weve went from a decent covering this morning to nothing now. A very quick thaw. Wind still biting cold.
  10. The snow is lying where I am just outside the city centre of Glasgow, albeit a bit slushy on Tarmac. Definite covering on grass. Nice wee surprise for this time of year.
  11. So, if the main front isn't going to reach the Glasgow area, is the consolation prize that we retain the cold air for later snow falls? Would just add, for this to happen twice in the same year is quite frustrating. What are the chances, particularly as, had this front been giving rain and high winds only, I've no doubt it would have had Glasgow's name written all over it.
  12. There was me coming on to post about it maybe snowing here in the west on Friday. Ah well, no chance of stopping Gareth Bale now.
  13. A few flurries from time to time, but that's it. I trust the snow is still evaporating just before the outskirts of Glasgow.
  14. Fascinating on the Rain Today radar to see a rabble of snow showers racing through the Central Belt, only each time to evaporate right at the same point just east of Glasgow. Story of the winter.
  15. Glasgow had a bit of snow for about half an hour today. Nothing lay, quickly turned to rain. Can't get my head round how we'd miss out so much. This is why I prefer cold crisp sunny days during a cold spell rather than promises of snow. Snow does its best to avoid Glasgow.
  16. What is there to ponder here? Yep, I'm willing to bet we get rain all the way in Glasgow today.
  17. On rain today there's a consistent gap in the precipitation over Glasgow. You couldn't make it up.
  18. Rain today shows precipitation all around Glasgow, but a NW-SE gap around the city itself I.e. the direction it's heading in.
  19. Just waiting for it to rain here to sum up our rotten luck.
  20. Not strictly true as there were some snow flurries early last Sunday morning, but since then in Glasgow, no snow. Nada. Zilch. Fine sunny crisp winter days. Had that weather front from the west on Friday been rain it would have made straight for us, but no, instead we get the rare chance to have the finest weather in Britain.
  21. Feeling very cold in Glasgow but still not a flake of snow seen.
