Hi all, i know its pretty late but would like to share some of my picture with you from the recent snow here in Folkestone http://www.flickr.com/photos/76141167@N02/show/

Im only 18 but is it going to be like one of those winters that my grandad always used to tell me of when the snow was on the ground for a good month and the snow cover just kept getting topped up with new snow falls.

I have a question a would really appreciate it if a few people could give their views and answers. I have been watching this feature in the north sea all day, the same feature that's responsible for pounding Belgium and now France with snow. Some say that the South east may see some snowfall and some don't. After a mainly sunny day today the first pieces of cloud that are linked to this system are now visible and wanted to know whether or not this type of cloud (in the picture) means something or not. I know that before rain approaches from the west you normally get wispy sort of clouds that are able to tell us that rain is coming. Any thought of what this cloud means, if it means anything at all that is?

Cloud starting to filter further down the north sea towards the south east now, DP also rising on my weather station and a few members on here have reported seeing frost forming, think its safe to say the moisture content of the air over us is on the rise.

How long does it normally take before the radar normally sorts itself out??

How long could this radar blip go on for?

Is it likely to be a bit of an explosive development as much more moist air filters and funnels down the north sea to us here in Kent?

come on seriously, all we need is a streamer or two to set-up and we 'could' get way more than what is currently being forecast. Eyes on the satellite pictures and radars (when it works) as the air should start to slowly become a little more moist in the coming hours...
