Heavy rain in Abergavenny. Elevation is going to be key for accumulations. We may well see some snow but i doubt it will stick down here.

A group of Waxwings have been spotted in Crickhowell. Loads of Twitchers about. A sign of cold weather to come....?

Here we go again. Eyes down looking. Very early chance of snow. I will however be missing out as i may be in Madeira when it arrives, wind in Funchal permitting.

Heavy snow that was forecast for tonight has now disappeared from the MetO for Crickhowell. Could be very local event for most.

Went for a run (stupid) muscles cramped (idiot). Cawl ready to eat. Off to book club then. Brisk walk. Beer. Then hunker down for tomorrow.

15:00 MetO forecast still going with Amber and heavy snow tomorrow for bulk of Mid to S Wales

Getting the cawl on the go soon, plus some SpagBol. Plenty of beer and wine in. Must get some candles etc and an ignitor for the gas fire. Forget the snow shovel. What's the point?

Well this is unexpected. Nice light but steady snow since 7am. More expected this afternoon. Then tomorrow...

Well I’m staring down the barrel of 24 hrs of heavy snow and another 24 of snow showers. I’m Prime placed in Crickhowell for it. More supplies to get tomorrow. Not bothering with a snow shovel. Don’t think it will be any use. Strap in people.

I think Tues maybe a working at home day. Then who knows after that. Thurs maybe a sledging at home day or digging out of the house day.

Errrm. So this is really happening?! I’m still trying to let go of nagging doubts as it seems too good to be true. It could be utter madness next week.

I may be on my own here, but my glee at the prospect of cold and snow is slowly starting to turn to concern at actually how cold it could be. My wife is still ambivalent at the moment to it all, but we are staring down the barrel here. I guess we should all keep in mind the vulnerable within our communities over the coming weeks.
