  1. @fergieweather “W COUNTRY Sunday's weather looks firmly set to yield a disruptive event across a sizeable swathe of England & Wales. Please keep tuned to BBC Local Radio travel reports & take particular care/precautions (or indeed postpone) if heading N from our region into Midlands.” This could make things more interesting.
  2. I’m not counting my chickens just yet. 2013 seems quite a good facsimile though. If I was 50m to 100m higher then I’d be more confidence. Plus the Beacons and the Black Mountains tend to shield us. My ankles have really started to itch which is a good sign. Always does with snow on the way
  3. This could be quite interesting for me. Meteociel has me there or there about for big accumulations. 10 miles either way from huge dumping of white stuff to meh.
  4. Yellow and Amber warning issued for North and Mid Wales. Just inside the yellow for me. Slight correction south and we could all be in for a pasting.
  5. Agreed. The cold air needs to dig a bit further south as it could be very wet from the Beacons south if we don't. Interesting model watching over the next 24 hours.
  6. Fingers crossed that there aren't any further corrections south for Sun/Mon. That could be quite interesting. If it stays as modelled then amber warnings, but still 3 days out so could change track.
  7. Fed up of the posts saying. "Can't forecast anything in this country unless its rain", "Rubbish forecast" etc. Granted the post was a bit spikey.
  8. Lots of stamping of feet here because it didn’t snow 6” on their house. Scroll back through the comments and people stamping their feet because the Beeb and MetO chopped and changed from sleet to snow to rain to snow etc. Surely that gave an indication of how marginal it would be for some. I think the forecast was bang on. A “be aware” warning that that didn’t quite make it to the south coast. There has been widespread snowfall throughout Wales. Some will have had a dusting some a dumping. It’s the first week of Winter. Get a grip people.
  9. I have VentuSky, Netweather Radar and #uksnowmap open. Radar showing rain in N Wales but being reported as hail
  10. Will be down to nowcasting for me as the hills and mountains may take the sting out of things before it hits Crickhowell
  11. Is that a yellow warning for Wales this Sunday that the MetO are trying to get out?
  12. Well, well. If the slider stays on this track most of Wales will be pummeled. It's going to be nail biting as we edge closer to Sunday. If it does correct further SW then hopefully this will allow colder air to dig further south which could bring further riches and more chance of prolonged cold into next week, if not snow for Sun-Mon
  13. So i've finally moved into the new house, and i'm back on the boards to find some possibly tasty weather coming up in the next 7 days. All to play for. Just hope i'm not too far east for it to hit me.
  14. Light flurries of snow in Crickhowell and Abergavenny. Not bad for last day of autumn.
  15. We’re quite close to our first “Winters over” shout in the mod threat. Toys and the kitchen sink being thrown out because the models aren’t making the weather, the right weather for snow. Madness. We have had our first “BOOM Deep cold” to “Well the jets going to kick back in now. Back to mild mush” about face. @andymusic Any idea how the models got a handle on Dec 2010
  16. Net weather radar is showing heavy snow over the Beacons. Dark Sky is telling me heavy snow in 20 mins. Temp 2.4c dew point -0.5c
  17. A grand total 10m higher to the dizzying heights of 111m in Crickhowell. Although snow potential is better than Abergavenny.
  18. Just when I really don’t need cold and snow. Moving house on the 1st Dec.
  19. Eyes down looking. Back again for some masochistic weather watching.
  20. Nice dusting of snow here. Enough for me to re consider my morning run
  21. Starting to come down here quite nicely now.
  22. Dew point has plummeted to 0.5C here. Fingers crossed.... As i type there's a small flurry of snow starting
  23. 1.9C Dew point. Temp really starting to fall now. Blorenege is obscured now with snow. Still light rain down in town.
  24. Currently in Abergavenny 4.9C Temp 2.7C Dew Point Down about a degree from this morning Snow on the Blorenge around 560m
  25. Chucking it down here. Anyone else use the NW rainfall radar? Big flip on the Animation at around 11:25 Snow disappears from the Beacons and the sleet elsewhere
