About a 6.5/10 here so far. Fairly similar to yours with a great start. But the lack of storms is letting it down, plus it does feel like, even this far South, that Autumn is slowly trying to suck up some of Summer's goodness Having said that, the last few days have been okay with light to moderate showers and a fair amount of brighter spells too Edit: heavy shower now

Model Moans, Ramps and Banter
BlueHedgehog074 replied to Polar Maritime's topic in Forecast Model Discussion
Yeah, that's true actually. I think sometimes it's so easy just to focus on your on own region or area when talking about how the weather has been. You guys, though, do deserve a break from the wet weather (especially if it's dry, sunny, weather you prefer) -
I suppose to be fair the models do show the Jet Stream taking on a bit of a Southerly track in the next few days or so, but nothing seemingly too unusual with lows tracking through the UK or just to the North. At least compared to when the Jet tracks so far South that lows end up running along the South of the UK, it does appear to be in a fairly ordinary position. For Winter, though, having the Jet track far enough South to deliver channel lows as well as encouraging European troughing, is like a dream come true! Edit: Just 18*C here at the moment (lol)

Yeah, kinda sucks really! I swear those setups used to be so much better at delivering the goods -
Model Moans, Ramps and Banter

It hasn't been too bad of a Summer this year. Mostly dry and bright, but with some instances of rain and showers at times. What this Summer has been unappealing for so far is thunderstorms, with none of the plume-like setups delivering anything. Personally, I would love August to change that, but looking at the models, it doesn't look as though they'll be any proper heat for the next week or so at least (although things could always still change). Just be nice to have a decent Spanish plume setup with an authentic thundery breakdown. Any storms that have broken out just haven't wanted to hang about over the West Midlands (at least not in this part). Maybe some of the showery setups this week could at least provide showers with a few odd rumbles. But just want a proper storm, really -
Must say in the last few days, the showers that have occurred here have been disappointingly light Was almost tempted to add an extra option to the poll 'only if they're Snow showers' but it would probably just complicate things more. (Anyway, sorry for the double post, I admit this is just an excuse to get the thread more attention)

Model Output Discussions 12z 01/06/2017
BlueHedgehog074 replied to phil nw.'s topic in Forecast Model Discussion
I doubt it will happen, but the 06Z GFS shows a devilish little Low blowing up over the North Sea for next Tuesday, which could bring stormy winds and blustery showers for places, most especially towards the East of the UK -
When it comes to sunshine and showers setups, do you prefer the showers to miss you, or have them take a direct hit over you? For me, I prefer them taking a direct hit, but mostly if they're heavy, or thundery. I especially love the ones which contain snow and hail. I'm flooded with disappointment when showers like those decide to do something very sneaky - deliberately avoid your area, or split up over you! There's always that feeling of shock when a high-quality shower or thunderstorm literally avoids your area by a mile to your North, South, East or West! Only when it's a day of sunshine and light showers, or if I'm doing an outdoor activity, that the showers can leave the Solihull Shower Shield alone! How about you guys/gals?

Yeah, that would be nice. I'm bored of this Storm Shield. It just doesn't want to shatter! I think getting a marble to float on water seems more likely than us getting a storm (or snow) lol :/ -

Yeah, it's a real shame really. :/ It doesn't even feel all that warm out there (although doesn't feel really cool either). Really does seem to be such a challenge to get any decent bangers to explode over us this year. Just have to hope late July, August or September will come to our rescue! -

I admit I'm not feeling that confident either -

According to this BBC weather forecast, some storms/showers should be breaking out soon over some parts of the Midlands! Not sure about that, although the cloud cover here has become more patchy and looks a little threatening! Hard to tell whether it's just Stratus cloud or if there is any embedded convection going on
