And as predicted significant flooding all along the Aire valley, 6 flood warnings already for it. Levels in a couple of places are not that far off Boxing day as well, which is a bit surprising as the rainfall this time isn't that much there just isn't anywhere else for it to go but the streams. Its becoming a yearly occurrence.

Warning issued for Sunday for Rain, covers the Pennines in our region. Was hoping they were going to get this out today as potential for a lot of rain, given there is surface flooding around here today with only these 'small' amounts it shows that there is going to be issues on Sunday. Could well see it upgrading to Amber tomorrow if the high totals keep appearing.

Storm Eunice - 18th February

There probably is a clear case for a red warning for around the Bristol Channel (North Devon, Bristol, Swansea/Cardiff). Elsewhere not enough data, so any other red area you would assume they will wait till tonight before issuing. -

First time the top of the scale is hitting the North of England. Its definitely moved North, at least on UKV. -

Red will be very late tomorrow. Will be the 12z runs that will provide the first pinned down track, as until them the model runs will be running without the storm actual existing. As such going to be after 3pm at the very earliest before any decision over Red's could be made. -

This is the big problem with this one. Met Office needs to get the red warning issued on Thursday due to the expected time of day for the storms so schools & businesses etc can take action, but the track likely won't be pined down to within 50 miles till the 12z runs on Thursday, so they may have to issue a red(s) without being fully confident. -
Amber Warning now issued for Wednesday / Thursday covers from Harrogate northwards. I expect them to increase the size of the area southwards if it stays as is nearer the time. Also a warning now issued for Friday, but its more a 'we aren't at all certain warning' just potential for extreme winds across England/Wales and Blizzards for Northern England / Scotland.

Looking on the North Yorkshire Road Cameras only places with a full covering of snow are Cowling and Ribblehead. Settle has some but, guess height was the limiting factor there. Really was a tops of Pennines only event as far as Yorkshire is concerned. Edit: Grassington has a good covering as well, would guess that camera is high up as doesn't look to be in the village.
