  1. BBC do not agree, they have a max of 21c for this next week for London. In fact Saturday 19c. GFS isn't quite showing mid 20s. Don't get me wrong I would love to see the mid 20s as I have seen aluded to but I can't see where that would come from based models and the forecast.
  2. Yeah, for me it just shows how cool things have been and look like continuing in general. Seems hard these says to squeeze 27c never mind warmer. Yes this isn't a 30c country but things are very different now!
  3. Looks like we are about to see a short and poor attempt at a warm spell. I can't see that much sun away from western areas. Nothing that warm, ok to pleasant but that's it. That said considering what we have had and what I'm certain we will revert to we are going to hand to 'put up' as I can't this poor pattern changing anytime soon. It's the pesky cloud coming in specially with a high moving off north plus the low out south.
  4. I'm more impressed with the charts we have seen over Scandanavia. Norway has seen large parts in mid 20s quite a bit over last 2 weeks. Today though, a number of 30c, plenty of 27c and over, one being Tromso, 350km North of the Arctic Circle! Sweden and Finland too, again as far north as 69N the temperature was 31c in Finland with many locations above 27c in both countries. A few cooler days coming up for them then improving again. I assume this is all due a part of the reason we are getting such persistently dreadful conditions. I hear so much about northern blocking, is this what it means? Here we get a brief warmer spell, there's excitement which is higher than usual purely due to how dreadful things have been. Anyway it is looking like a return to usual likely and the West looking the more favoured spots? Pressure building and drifting off east but if only it was to encourage heat up this way! That said as the old proverb goes, ne'er cast a clout till May be out
  5. Yes Norway has also seen a lot of warm weather and more on forecast. Currently mid 20s in Trondheim. Last week saw couple of days at 27c otherwise low to mid 20s. They seem to be able to hold on, get weather far warmer than their average and more sunshine. A cold pint there, however, will cost you £10 lo Scandanavia seems to be faring well at the moment with the weather. What a place to be with it like that. Even Hammerfest, North of the Arctic Circle, is reporting 21c now.
  6. By all accounts the models suggest yet more poor weather? How surprising, here we are it's 18c and everyone is loving it. That's now poor it has been, mind you it was 8c the other day. Norway is seeing temperatures in the 20's, in fact the place I was at back in Hanuary which was -10c by day has recently seen 27c more than once and had a good forecast of 23c for week ahead. This is made worse because it is continuous with barely a let up. Maybe a day or two blip at best. Agh I'd agree with the views of screwed for years to come, we already have been screwed for the last few years. Any settled spell in April or May has been our summer of late. Had ours this year albeit a poor attempt!
  7. So I was in Norway this January. In Trondheim, Oslo and Roros. Trondheim was about -7c by day, Roros -30c but today they were 27c and 22c restively yet here we still get shoddy weather! It's so frustrating how the cooler cloudy weather is so horribly persistent. For their region they are going very well particularly for the length of time too! Agh Feel free to move to SE discussion which was where I thought I had posted, apologies!
  8. Woo the edge of potential slushy sleet muck, how absolutely fabulous. It has actually become boring now, it's just cold and cloudy. Snow at least makes up for the cloud and greyness. I don't know what's worse the cold dry cloudy weather or sleet/slush. Rant over
  9. Just saw a BBC forecast, cold week ahead. Very little snow though, having had a peak at model thread, cold set up last a while yet. Mod thread seem quite excitable yesterday, not quite so today.
  10. Warnings of snow and cold by sky. Mmm? I shalln't get too excited, much like Saturday, plenty of snow further north yet we had a wet sprinkling. More cold and cloud maybe with a wet sprinkling at best to potentially look forward to so lots to look forward here not. Please excuse me whilst I refrain from getting too excited. The cold with lovely blue skies or snow and it's all good, cold and cloud however, is not good especially in March. I was in Norway this Jan and I kid you not I experienced more hours of sunshine during that time than I have since I returned :o we must below average by quite some margin?
  11. What's all the disbelief? I don't really post in the forecasting forum as I haven't really got the foggiest how to read half the charts lol
  12. I don't like the look of the next few days, cold and dull. The worst kind without a doubt, I suppose in is late March so for snow here conditions being right are less likely than other times.
  13. You said with confidence snow will grip SE and EA I wasn't asking about Tesco lol. I assumed you were making a forecast of snow and just wondered if that included this far out!
  14. By SE does that exclude the West London and just outside West London area? Or include? Seems to be to the East and North of here
  15. News has talked a lot about snow lately yet nothing of any note has happened or due here or close. Funny because according to northern residents it's always in the news when we get snow lol errr...
  16. It was the evening standard actually... http://www.standard.co.uk/news/london/snow-predicted-in-london-as-cold-week-sweeps-in-8526734.html
  17. Metro say London can expect a light dusting and no settling. Very much to the South, cold with no purpose here then woohoo lol
  18. My location doesn't always give me great totals and sometimes I miss out altogether. It seems the MO have the snow to our south. Though I'm sure I heard it'd be to our east? Anyway can anyone tell me I'll see at least a flurry lol
  19. Did I just see an old or dodgy forecast, showed snow over the SE tomorrow? Really lol?
  20. Would these parts potentially see something? Tonight has been a bit bitty, wet snow, not particularly heavy but unable to settle.
  21. Can't see it being this part of Berks, nothing has settled. There's snow, not heavy and fairly wet.
