  2. Quite an interesting rhyming slang 'aris', for anyone remotely interested, it derives from a double whammy of Aristotle = Bottle, Bottle and Glass = Ar*e, therefore just giving you the shortened version of 'aris'......(cockney parents).... moving swiftly back to the weather....

See...that's what I love about this place, you learn something every day....occasionally it's weather related as well angel.gif

    Night folks !

  4. Sixty years ago this week a great storm-surge swept down the east coast, killing more than 300 people in Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex.

Throughout the week BBC Look East will be remembering the night January 31st 1953, the region's worst peacetime disaster.

BBC Essex , and BBC Radio's Suffolk and Norfolk and BBC News Online will also have special features on the floods this week.

  5. Morning all,

I was fully prepared to look out this morning and see green grass but there is actually a surprising amount of snow still here given that last night was mostly sleety rain with a few big blobs of snow mixed in !

It's not going to last long though it's 3 degrees already and blue sky and sunshine....hopefully the slushy stage will be over quickly like Steve it's my least favourite part.

Unless we are going to be lucky enough to see significant snow in February my chosen weather would be days like today, fresh and dry...

    Enjoy your weekend folks good.gif
