  1. hi guys, anyone dareing enough to have a guess as to the likely location of any blocking that forms from this particular type/location of strat warming, maybe based on similar previous warmings? - if there has been a warming previously in a similar location to that forecast? i know thats probably an impossible question to answer, but thought id give it a shot anyway! thanks for the excellent cutting-edge thread choino and friends :-)
  2. has anyone seen the mass of rain covering nearly the whole country! not sure i have seen that much before.. makes me laugh though, norfolk and suffolk being the only dry places in the u.k, now theres a supprise! if it were snow, that would be jus absolutly typical! ohh - i spoke too early! - its raining.
  3. hi guys n gals, thought one or two of you maybe interested in the pic my father took at 8am this morning in weybread suffolk.. wish i was there to see it! typical! possibly two funnels (one to the right in the pic) according to my dad..
  4. now thats a supprise. its always been a close call, personally i am going for a fleeting nw'ly, have done all along. if you go for pretty much the worst scenario, thats usually the one the comes off..
  5. he often simply writes what many others are thinking, and has every right too imo.
  6. come on guys, does no one ever learn?? we are talking about charts waaaay out in fi! come the day, it will be a slack northerly with less cold uppers bringing snow to maybee scotland,, nothing unusual, thats IF we even get a northerly..
  7. some great posts tonite from the gurus, been waiting all year for this! off topic, but hey, maybee ill get away with it being a newbie. keep up the good work lads (and ladetts)..
  8. met office comp going for a similar thing at t72: http://www.meteociel.fr/modeles/ukmo2.php?nh=0&carte=1594&ech=72&archive=0 but i personally pay no attention to ppn maps, they vary rarely varify (imby). also, imby i didnt get any more than two inches in 09, infact, no more than 4" at any one time in the last twenty five years!
  9. yes, and got nowt in my area, as always. i really am STILL getting over it.
  10. http://www.meteociel.fr/modeles/ecmwf.php?ech=120&mode=1&map=0&archive=0 seems the models are showing something a little more interesting at last, albeit in fi. will all change by this eve so not to worry all you warmies.. ;-)
  11. spot on mr sw.. personally, i aggree and think things are setting up quite nicely for us with reguards to cold pooling to the east of us. i would not be supprised to see some snow in november this year (more likely in the east (accept for the triangle of doom of corse!)), with the right synoptics.
  12. "Has anyone ever seen such chaos in the model output that we are seeing now?" virtually every time i look at them.
  13. if you were working in this discusting heat, we'd soon see who was the miserable one.
  14. this horrible hot summer just seems to go on forever! bring on tomorrow!
  15. looks like the usual triangle of doom and boaringness is up to its usual tricks. i expect nowt here as always, just as is the case during winter.
  16. its lucky its not a sweeping generalisation then, hence the words 'guessing' and 'most'.. although, what you said yourself is infact a sweeping generalisation! lol. (dont like using 'lol' but never mind)
  17. discustingly hot in burston today, dreading working in this next week, terrible weather. im guessing most of you are retired and have the luxury of enjoying it and getting in the shade when you feel like it etc. for those who work outside in a sun trapped cortyard, will be nothing short of torture.
  18. tell you what, if you stand next to me at work and hold the fan, along with a bucket of ice to cool the hot air down (as a fans useless on its own, i should know, i have one next to my bed every nite during the summer), then we have a deal!
  19. i wouldnt say suffered, more like let off, although, sunday night was terribly uncomfortable. i really cant understand the facination in wanting hot, humid conditions, making it horrible to work/sleep in. i work outside and am dreading next week, is going to be so sweaty, and dont forget being constantly eaten alive by damn midges. i really am praying for a strong cool breeze off the north sea. the last few years have been nice, i knew it would end at some point, come back winter i say!
  20. Now getting hit by a squall line of sorts, belting down out here in the field, and this is just the start by the looks of things..
  21. Good luck chaps, has always been a dream of mine to go storm chaseing. One day when I can afford it :-(
  22. Loveing your profile pic, moody and hot at the same time,, would love to join you for a drink! ;-) Don't take offence, I can be a bit cheeky sometimes lol.
