  1. After not seeing any mean full rain the last 5 months , and not too much this Far East for next week as well…However heading to North Wales for the week tomorrow, unbelievable timing after working all through the heat of summer, so a little depressed about that,as heavy rain and gusty winds forecast for the whole week for that part of the uk…No surprise being close to that low pressure just sitting there spinning around and spinning and spinning and spinning you get the idea lol

  2. So what seems to be one of the best August in years in this part of Norfolk , things seem to be look very unsettled for the start of September..I always take the first 2 weeks off have done for the last 18 years only ever had one bad September.Still a long way off but not looking great especially in the west where I am heading.

How ironic would it be if September turned out to be cool and wet.,when it's normally the continuous of summer.

There is rain in the models over the next few days, for pretty much everywhere except the far south coast, what a joke! I'm half convinced it's never going to rain again! Every single front that comes in goes just to the north, or completely disintegrates before getting down here.

I agree The ECM has been absolutely crap regarding rain , for the last 8 weeks 5 days ahead shows this part of Norfolk there will be “lots of rain”  with it showing accumulation of anything up to 20mm at times never has happened. Not convinced for Sunday either local radio weather is saying “wet all day with heavy bursts at times” national as well. If this doesn’t happen well!!!!

  4. Here in Attleborough mid Norfolk I recorded a below average Jan rainfall, Above Feb, Mar/Apr/May/June well below average, This month 0mm, we have missed all the showers this month. Last measurable rainfall here was 5th June over 20mm which was gentle but at times heavy for a few hours, before that was back in March, over 25mm in a day.

Normally August can be my wettest month of the year.2021/20/19/18/17 had days from heavy prolonged storms, 2020, I recorded over 80mm in just one day from a storm that sat over us for a good few hours.

So time will tell if August 2022 will follow the above.

As always be carful what you all wish for, as I’ve seen many long dry spells, then when the weather gods want to cause havoc in rain they will.

  5. Not something we have seen recently a cloudy start to the day, 17c welcome for most. Most schools break up today here in Norfolk. The summer holiday season will be in full pelt this weekend, looking good at 30+ Sunday

However as we have all expected the early outlook for the start of August looks a little more mixed ( no surprise there) weather any rain will arrive to the very dry Norfolk is still not certain, but temperatures very up and down, but nothing extreme as yet,

I’ve measured no rain at all so far this month, over 20mm, in June ( most of that on the 5th) If August fails for rain then summer 2022 will be the driest since 2010 since I recorded.

  6. Currently 17.6c here mid Norfolk at 7.30, which I have had much higher at this time on the max 30 days , so lot of warmth needed to break my record of 36.4c, that day it was 26c at 8 am, as other people have said lots of high level cloud approaching already…Interesting day, at the moment I think my record safe for today maybe, can’t see it happening at the moment

Cloud already rolling in at 7:40am from the west.

Have a feeling there will be a lot more cloud than forecast today.

So a slight snag this morning towards the north west of the region, there is more cloud than initially expected thanks to a front being a bit more extensive than most models forecast (Only the UKMO had rain over the Midlands first thing).

However any cloud should clear and break up to leave long spells of hazy sunshine. Winds will generally be between the south and south west.

Temperatures - 30-32c, the highest temperatures across Cambridgeshire. A 33c cannot be ruled out and a value I am looking to see if we will hit, this upper value would also push past our current high set in June.

We also have unexpected cloud this morning with a surprising breeze , currently 18.6c at 8.30, Just taken the dog out and was very pleasant…Will be interesting to see if cloud cover Monday Tuesday will make an unexpected appearance..Also local radio have said Wednesday could hit 30c in this part of Norfolk, with only a small chance of a shower
