and if you tell them it isn't going to happen, then you are a party pooper and negative thinker who brings down the mood of the MOD thread I said it will go pear shaped
Yes, thank you…..i have commented many times to these people and always get a crappy reply back….this is a little tiny island that so many people seem to forget. Posting extreme charts 12 days out is absolutely ludicrous and saying it’s nailed on! ….i know which posters these are so when they are back can’t wait to respond to them again…

Only 12 days ago…idiots who now seem to have completely disappeared on the model forums, posting charts that was showing below daytime temps for this day today and record snow depths…they do spoil it for me …

Still 17c possible in the coming week…it is what it is….the US also experiencing exceptional warmth….I’d happy to have this for a few weeks or so, with the cost of energy going through the roof at least I can turn down the thermostat…

Re above post …..says it all really…I definitely thought we may have least at long last had a festive feel this year…Now from Tuesday onwards spring like warmth…Weather Quest have even said this morning if the sun comes out long enough Tuesday-Thursday that a 15 or a cheeky 16c may not be out of the question somewhere in the East Anglian region.
The model forum do sometimes forget about climate change and unfortunately this will be the new normal…they really need to get their head round it and not keep chasing cold for weeks on end…

So basically the charts have been laughing at us all the last 10days even the most experienced weather forecaster was mugged right off....however GFS last few days was not having it at times and predicted way above temps...this has to be the most laughable thing that has ever happened since I joined on here well over 10 years ago....Now looking at record breaking temps possible for year end

The latest 6z is showing double digits for Christmas in this part of the world, all the hype from last few days gone in a quick of a flash

Now this has been a proper Autumns day. Winter knocking on the door, several inchs of snow fall, 2 more days of good colder weather before a slight relapse on tues but thankfully winter comes in on good shape, love it for once!
Yes agree, but you will still get a few posters who always looking out for those one of charts that’s show white out conditions 10ft snow etc, never ever going happen,…and also some will forget this weekend has ever happened..

Because we all trust the weather on the TV, most of the snow is more likely to happen later next week so basically at day 10 and we all know day 10 is the best day for model verification
Happens every winter, certain posters will do anything to get attention from posting their 10 day charts with extreme blizzards, record depth snow etc, blah blah blah, Then throw their dummies out the pram when it changes on day 9 lol

Groundhog Day….Groundhog Day…..Groundhog Day ….., 7 days recorded 3 hours of Sun….Since the first of August 82hrs, Absolutely unbelievable for this part of the world, however bone dry

Another weekend and yet another cool cloudy start here in Norfolk, we have even had some showers this morning….apparently light says the forecast,,um no it was a heavy shower did last a few mins. Next week looks appalling yet again for this side of the UK, I feel so sorry for the holiday makers who have come from the western side of UK to holiday here.
So this stuck in the rut pattern that’s been in place since April will annoying continue into Autumn…

Yep agree with all the above posts, I can’t remember in my 20 years of being fascinated by weather have I witnessed such a poor run of sun here in Norfolk…Cloud constantly coming of the North Sea since late April.. The latest chart from the met office clearly backs this… Really not sure what this would mean if continued during winter. I guess no cold nights due to cloud cover , but chilly below average temps days possibly.. Only good thing we haven’t had the persistence rain just localised down pours.
Just to note only recorded a high of 24.4 c for August a very poor attempt with no sign of this being reach rest of month .

Another summer Saturday morning and again cloudy start to the weekend. Cloud cover come quicker then forecast…I have only recorded 5 clear sunny Saturdays this summer with one more to go next week…After this weekend weather looking dry, but what has summed up this summer lots of cloud stuck in this part of EA yet again midweek.
I think this “stuck in the rut” pattern is here to stay for many weeks yet.

Latest charts now showing a cool cloudy end to summer what a surprise, only a few days of 30+ recorded this summer as a whole, which was nothing exciting. I compare this summer to 2012 but just without all the heavy rain .

This mornings ECM pushes any really good weather out to Day 10 which is a great chart, it does however, remind me of winter and the ECM freezing easterly that is always at Day 10.
SE England might do OK from Day7 but for the rest of us summer is slipping away.
Andy
Summer slip away? , never got started most disappointing summer compared to the last few. This morning charts just tells it all really.

So for yet another weekend here In Mid Norfolk we start on a cloudy note yet again, since May I think we have had 80% of the weekends here cloudy with only occasional sunny spells appearing.. However not been cold at all and would be interesting to know how the night temperatures have average out for the last 4 months. Obviously due to all this cloud it’s kept the nights very mild. Let’s all hope for a cracking end to summer and September.
We definitely paid for it this year after 3 months of clear blue sky April May and most of June last year .

Well the heat lovers have been utterly spoilt for the last week, so they surely can't moan about a week or two of cloud, rain and cool temperatures now.. It's been glorious sunny, dry and baking hot for the last week, and a lot of people have enjoyed it... But this is the UK, not the mediterrean, and payback is just around the corner....
This weekend we say goodbye to high pressure, and say hello to our good old friend the Atlantic...
Expect temperatures to be in the high teens/low twenties in most places, expect plenty of showers and longer spells of rain, heavy at times and expect moderate to fresh westerly winds, esspecially in coastal areas.
I can feel a song coming on.....
For some reason this song always pops into my head when we go into an unsettled atlantic spell.
Also this one:
Can just imagine driving down the motorway, in torrential rain, listening to this.
You guys have definitely had the best weather so far this summer

Normal service has resumed here in mid Norfolk, after 5 days of sun, after waiting weeks for it the dull gloomy sky’s have returned with a temperature of 19.9c…bizarre summer so far here .

As expected and not surprising the same old yearly story an awful next week for the start of the school holidays , It’s look absolutely awful for the first half of August infact the way the charts are looking this morning probably one of the worst I have seen in many years for August of course this could change but as it stands I think we need to make the most of the next 2 days

I reckon enjoy the next week or so folks. Warm dry and settled on the whole - but by the time we get to next weekend it’ll be a very different picture! I have a sinking feeling that once the trough moves in next week we might not see any more lasting settled weather through the summer. One to watch.
This mornings UKV run actually has 32c being reached somewhere in the UK on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday….with 30c today and on Wednesday. It’s very bullish about the higher upper temps holding throughout though.
If we went back into the model forum archive for this time every year this is the normal tread, with the schools breaking up.

At last, since the 8th of June, that was my last day of clear blue sky from dawn to dusk. Been lovely today after weeks and weeks of stubborn cloud.
I’ve never know a spring / summer here in Norfolk that we have had some sort of Northerly flow. We all know this will disappear for the Winter.I still worry about August , not sure the last time we had an a whole August of settled weather.,

July this morning, gloomy November in the afternoon here in mid Suffolk. Boo! This summer is like a mid 80s one. Bright start and cloud later. It'll break by evening no doubt.
The most bizarre summer here for Norfolk and Summer, had very dull and wet, but can’t remember a spring /summer we hardly any sun. It’s only been the start of June that we have seen blue sky,

Much milder this morning after 6 mornings of frost….a continuous HP looks to be around at least to early Feb, This what Winter should be, cool sunny days and night frost and fog. Why the model forum yet again sulking because it’s boring and no snow….
Only downside in all this will we pay for the possibility of the lack of rain come spring, as not much looks likely in the long term in our region.
