  1. Bluebell Hill really holding up this band of showers over Snodland/Halling. C'mon
  2. It is. It palyed havoc in the Canries and shut a few airports. It's not really a mild front just a warm front with associated low that's posibly gonna bump in to stubborn cold air and give snow. The MetO have gonna from saying some uncertainty to an all out snow fest for many on Friday. (Thursday in the South West)
  3. BBC (Met/Meteo) 22:35 Broadcast.... going for all out snow event Friday. Marginal or uncertainty NOT mentioned
  4. Estuary showers seems to be dying, like a plug has been pulled? Is that it for a while??
  5. It didn't for Maidstone in the last big blob that came over, keep the faith, that blobs comin over.
  6. Look like it's heading right for the hill. Prob going to just miss us as we're just down the valley between Snodland and Rochester so BBHill shelters us a bit. As what's happened most of the day.
  7. Wind has veered from the North for the last 30 minutes (constant) here in the Medway Valley.
  8. Medway Snow Shield in full effect. Looks like nothing for at least 3 hrs, yet plenty either side.
  9. Wind veered more E from ENE. In my graphic the dots nearer the outside are the latest gusts:
  10. Still 1.3 here in the Valley, but even though I have a Davis VP I think it adds a degree due to location near fence and only a few metres from house .
  11. The very first "dandruffy" flakes (and a mean just a few!!) have started here in the Medway Valley.
  12. So let's say here in Kent/Essex we get snow, say 5-10cm Mon/Tues. We should have roughly 850 temps of about -12. What will that translate as at 2m temps overnight. I understand that day temps will probably not go abaove freezing Tue/Wed/Thu but what about overnight? Are we look at -10 possibly here over any "snowfields"??
  13. MetOff Warning UPDATED! They've got on board with further South track ! https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/warnings
  14. Francis Wilson is/was a highly qualified Metrologist and not just a "presenter".
  15. I don't doubt she didn't, however I am not disrespecting her or them, just that the proper Met Office Metrologists are the ones "really" in the know.
  16. BBC guys (ie after the news) are all (most??) Met Office Metrologist that present on TV.....Unlike the ones on local or ITV Meridian
  17. Slight fluctuation in temps here in The Medway Valley, rose as that cloud came through but that now has dispersed they have dipped slightly. Though I expect temps to rise over the next 6 hours. I hate knife-edge snow events....they are sure to disappoint, seen too many end up wet non events... they are the weather equivalent of a bit of "Brewer's", disappointing for all involved
  18. Beeb just said snow will turn to sleet and rain as it comes in to the South East this morning. Currently we have couple of inches of lying snow in the Medway Valley and that has turned to concrete. Crampons anyone?
  19. Sometimes I do wonder if too much staring into the tea leaves that is FI and looking for cold, that it's easy to forget (and enjoy) the current cold snap. It's currently -2, superbly frosty and has been for 2 days. Frost lasting all day in many parts. Indeed there is a chance of the fluffy stuff in the next week, also some great looking charts (in perspective to what's been before) but don't get so despondant as to miss the current "nice chilly stuff". So much better that the last few years of wind, claggy skies and 10'c+ temps.
  20. Temps rising to the South of the Medway area. http://www.halling-weather.co.uk/wxtempslive.php
  21. Not got access to maps here at work, are the winds coming back late morning? Very calm here in SE London.
