What the F...ridge Deakin on BBC News 24. Ramping up the snow in Kent/Essex. Using word like "significant" and "dumping" then stating "2 - 4cm" Oooooh whoopsie doo! All I can say is, his missus must be easily pleased!!- 1,325 replies

Not rubbish in general, just poor in this region. It was all the hype, the ramping, then seeing this snow shield that was no more than 20 miles by 20 miles. Where most around were getting plastered, reporting big depths and having fun, taking beautiful photo's kind of irks, and you shouldn't deny that feeling. It wouldn't be so bad if the events had been total misses, but just the difference in each snow event has been maybe 20-30 miles, and not just in one direction! It's been a touch unusual.- 1,325 replies

Try it for what?? Is it guaranteed or your money back?? Even though that site kindly let me use thier forcasts on my Website (unlke the Met) they are about as reliable as Shergars stables padlock! The only fairly reliable forecasts are those by the BBC, with Met Office presenters. Thier hit rate is more acceptable than most.- 1,325 replies

I'll sum up the snow events IMBY. Dec 7 Sleet Jan 14 Am Snow: 1cm dusting, melting by 9am Jan 14 PM Rain, Rain, Rain Jan 15 Snow 01:00-03:00 2cm, melted before 6am Jan 18 Light Snow. Dandruff showers left 1cm after 12 hours! Jan 19 Snizzle. No winter willie waving here! Very disappointing due to all the ramping, by forecasters, media, models and by some on here. However, don't get me wrong, this is far better than the 12s & 13s of a few weeks ago! But it's hardly 1963!!- 1,325 replies

Tom: Halling Match postponed 0mm Nada Big Fat Zero Not holding my breath for tomorrow, due to the last 7 days of let downs and macro snow umbrellas! Forecast today was for widely -1, it has been 1.3 and been bouncing 0.5 -0.9 for last few hours. 2c out tomorrow will just see the difference between Frosty the Snowman or Frosty Reception! Prediction: I'm going for....... snow but not for all, and here possibly not the depths been banded about on here of maybe 15cm. Max 5cm. I hope I'm proved wrong.- 1,325 replies

I dunno. Strood has always done better than here, especially up Darnley Road way, / Leisure Centre or towards Wainscott. Just a tiny bit of elevation. You probably could not get any lower than me as I am so close to the river. Which also ( I think) raises the temp up around here by 1/4 maybe 1/2 a degree, depending on the tide of course (Volume of salt water??) So I'd back strood. However, I'm not laying anything cashwise, the the M word is going to prevail, buts here's hoping not!- 1,325 replies

Sorry to say, tomorrow's event has got marginal, with a capital M written all over it, for us here (Medway / North Kent / Essex coast) Not going to believe the hype this time, BBC MetO being a bit bullish IMHO with a generalisation of snow everywhere in SE. 47 years bitten 47 years shy! I've "bitten" too many times, yesterday was about the last straw. Need professional help to get over my snow obsession, and wierd as it may seem to some, yesterday's non event ( which I did forecast 2 days prior btw if you check my posts when Paul Sherman was running a sweepstake) strangely hurt.- 1,325 replies
