  1. That's it for today in these parts as the instability pushes further E this afternoon. Time is ticking for a rumble of thunder here in 2017. Surely I won't be waiting until 2018
  2. Hahahahahahaha storms N of me, storms S of me, storms E of me but here, it's like the parting of the waves. Marooned in no-mans land.
  3. It's like pulling teeth trying to get even a heavy shower here.
  4. Can't say I'm overly enthused looking at the radar. Just looks like bog standard sunshine and showers for most of England and Wales. Was expecting more in the way of torrential downpours.
  5. I'm still in. I'm going to be the only one in here soon...
  6. I was thinking the same thing. Surely it would be virtually unprecedented to go almost 2 years without a rumble?!
  7. I think people of the cold/snow persuasion should definitely count themselves so very fortunate to have lived through, pretty much, the most extreme December ever in terms of depth of cold. I don't think another December will top that in our lifetimes.
  8. Middle of summer, warm plume of air, approaching CF and I get drizzle, bloody drizzle!
  9. Oh definitely not to get excited about, but worth keeping an eye on
  10. You can see the classic signature in the surface winds, backed behind the front
  11. Well to me it looks like a classic cold front scenario with a very pronounced squall line Arpege shows it well
  12. Could be some torrential rain along that front on Friday Not too sure about any convective element though
  13. It really does look like coastal NW England is going to get a pummelling from that storm. Expanding northwards too.
  14. Looks like parts of Lancashire are in for a hammering shortly. I think that cell will be it but it does look impressive. Decent hail core by the look of it
  15. LOL I've had a few calendar years without thunder. Such long gaps between storms. Last one here- September last year. Just have to lump it I suppose don't we.
  16. Feels bad. Another no show here. Too far N&W for last night's offering and looking too far S&E for that lot forecast to hit Lancashire etc. Stuck in the middle in Crewe!
  17. Forecast I saw on BBC said mid-north Wales through N Midlands into Southern Northern England
