  1. What was you saying TonyH Don't worry too much IrememberAtlantic252/Charlie Brown,...... You might have scenes like this soon
  2. -2.6c or me overnight and at 4.5c for now, Grey leaded skies looks chilly out there,........ If FI verifies things could turn out quite wintry, Interesting model watching a head
  3. Such the pessimist......'A person who expects the worst'..... Puts you down to a T By the way if there was an (Unlike This) Button on here! Blimey You would break it
  4. I think (Dashing through the snow In a one-horse open sleigh) Maybe more on the mark..... Ok ok Waaaay too early

  6. Don't be like that! Bish.... he-he... Remember 'We to all stand together'
  7. Afternoon all, Theres plenty of doom and gloom regarding cold and more importantly snow, Well we are still 7 days away from winter yet and people are going on (Model thread) as if winter's over, The mind boggle's Anything past 72h-96h is not set in stone. We have more or less a week yet then proper winter actually begins and alot can happen between now (25th nov) and then (1st Dec). The trouble is folk look at the charts and what to see a winter seasonal brew of cold and snow, Sometimes you have to look at the longer picture! Baby steps that's what i say. Some hope for coldies.... If you look at the (Diagrammes GEFS Chart for CET), Past the 2nd Dec there's not much agreement between the members and theres plenty of cold and very cold scenarios in there..... So where there's uncertainty there's plenty of room for change
  8. Yes unless you've got very cold air in place ie, In coming from the east i think all uk snow fall is marginal "marginal scenarios are the ones that often give the most copious amount of snow, because the flakes are so much bigger" Absolutely Bish, Snow from the east with very cold air tends to be powdery, You can 4-5 hrs of snow and only have 1" to show for it... Now that's just not good at all. But then a front coming in from the west and hitting cold air and stalling over us, Well a good 8" ....Now that's what were talking about
  9. Yes -4 to -5 uppers is marginal ! But we had 12" overnight Saturday and carried on most of Sunday, I was ten at the time and hadn't got a clue about weather back then, But looking back now the key was it snowing at night and just how heavy it was, was a key factor, But it wasn't just the Midlands the south and southwest had it also. If you look at the Dam-528 line on both days, Well south of us. Whoops!...Sorry Sunday going into Monday, Come on......It was many a moon ago
  10. Steve Murr quoted this earlier today in one of his posts "Shades of December 81 still ringing in my mind" And boy i remember it !... We got buried. Sunday/Monday 14th December 1981
  11. Just look at the latest that the models are throwing out That'll stop you drooling..... lol Mull of Kintyre .....It ain't for me either lol
  12. t-x1.... This is the day (Sunday 14th December 1981) that it all started for me! Buried under snow and making an igloo in the back garden.....Oh those were the days
  13. Weather-history, Love the 3D interactive-model page, You can play/pause/zoom in and out but most importantly it show you where it will be at any given date. I'm no expert but the first few weeks in December look the best to me, Great find http://www.cometison2013.co.uk/interactive-model/ PS, This interactive model of Comet ISON uses Flash so may not be available on all mobile devices.
  14. You missed one other word, To most of us its most fancied of late..... DRY
  15. Very frosty start to this morning, Ran out of de-icer so had to revert back to the good old ice scraper Got down to -1.8c last night. Still only at 3.8c at midday can't see it getting much above 5c today.
  16. With me having King's Cross & Fenchurch Street Stations, Hopefully come the end of next week the Polar Express will come in, “All Aboardâ€
  17. Snow in Gaza ...Try Brian Gaze http://www.theweatheroutlook.com/twoother/latest.aspx .... http://www.theweatheroutlook.com/twoother/Brian%20Gaze%20blog.aspx
  18. If you think that (the so cold) Pro forecasters haven't a clue and Simon Keeling isn't floating your boat either... Well emmm ....Brian Gaza ....Who is this then, When it's raining. Link maybe
  19. Good idea... At least we know where they are if we want to look back, Posted in all these different threads it's almost impossible to get quick access. Good work anyway Buriedundersnow
  20. This was a little something i posted a few days back in the winter thread, it just shows how things can change so quickly. So when you mention how things don't look "very inspiring in the model outputs" just look back at 2010 Infact this first chart looks very similar to what the GFS is forecasting for this coming Mon/Tues. Just been looking back at Dec 2010 This is what the GFS gave out deep into FI on the 30th Nov for the 16th Dec And this is what we got So don't give up just Yet.
  21. The models change and they will i'm sure, It's just we are always looking for 'Al inspiring outputs day in day out' for cold and snow, But it's never going to be that way. TBH i'm just glad that the outlook seems to be on the dry side, Started to get fed up with this rain! So yes it may be boring but at least its dry
  22. Just glad in one way ! Just imagine if it was proper chucking down and then all the juicy stuff would of miss us, I would be buying new toys tomorrow
