  10. Most of the damaging winds are out to sea or around coastal areas, But a Sting jet can cause violent winds well inland. http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/feeds/24744462
  11. I think in mid Dec i mentioned something or other about keeping an eye on the Jet heading further south or Hinting towards that and how things can change for the better. I know this is FI but this the kind of outlook for the New Year that we may be looking towards and very Snowy one at that But caution it's still a long way off....
  12. If it makes you feel better, Rovaniemi the capital of Lapland and supposedly where the big man him self lives, Is expecting 4c and rain on Christmas day!!! Unbelievable Lovely Bright echoes on the Radar atm.... Cat and Dogs here but quite Mild though at 10.7c.
  13. Tommorrow looks bad http://earth.nullschool.net/#2013/12/24/0900Z/wind/isobaric/1000hPa/winkel3=-10.84,55.10,2999 But then you mentioned Friday http://earth.nullschool.net/#2013/12/27/1200Z/wind/isobaric/1000hPa/winkel3=-10.84,55.10,2999 If you Click on earth bottom left, Control - or + days, You can even change the heights. Click on the area where the winds are most fierce, It will give you the mean wind speed.

  20. HO HO Well guys you can't really call that a non avent can you....... So like Tx1 posted earlier, If i could pass a few bottles of these around we could all have a tipple and have a laugh about it. we've certainly got the ICE out there to go with it ...' Hic'
  21. Yes you called ? Yes quite cold out there now, I think ice will be a problem in the morning more so in prone areas, But regarding today Dew points were never going to be sub zero and with temps 5c-6c to start before the rain came, It was always going to be messy........Sleet was the best i could manage. But nice to see some folk done better
