  1. How true is that, Just the thought of that make me shiver.lol!
  2. When you look at air temps like these and with the ground been so damp, Bish, How right you are! Wide spead ICE for rush hour!!!
  3. I said this morning "Well what kind of a week we are going to have this week regarding the models" and "I still think there maybe a few surprises in store" For the life of me i didn't expect it so soon! The ECM is showing yet again alot of potencial for cold with an Easterly starting to set in by this weekend, But i'm not getting carried away with it just yet! Lets see what the other models throw out, A few more runs needed methinks Starting with the GFS later, Pub run as well, Now that'll be interesting
  4. To be honest the 168h chart looked poor regarding 850hpa and i thought they would never make it, But like you said "-10's by +216 Uk wide" But let's not get carried away, ....They haven't yet! .....Will be interesting to see what the GFS comes up with later
  5. Looks good, but no real cold air over the continent to make a difference.
  6. Even the GEFS (member no'11) shows an Easterly at 144h....http://www.meteociel.fr/modeles/gefs_cartes.php?code=11&ech=144&mode=0&carte=0 But theres no cold air over the continent atm, So its just a waste
  7. Lets see what the ECM will do for our appetite for this carrot/Easterly.^^^^ I'm tending to go with you on that one, But then again anything is plausible after 96h
  8. 'Tomasz Schafernaker' said this morning "There will be snow not just to higher levels but down to town and cities levels, So don't be surprised if you see a covering in the morning" His words not mine .......Susan Powell , Only mentioning the higher levels now. Drives me mad! how BBC Weather Presenters have differing views on things. Sorry, itsnowjoke,...Her words not mine ..lol!
  9. Forget Metcheck, The beeb weather suggesting snow, Not just for you WillinGlossop but for many and even down to lower levels in Northern England tonight But the biggest threat is wide spread ICE for tomorrow morning.
  10. Yeah! Do you have any Animation with that, lol! Joking apart, Theres alot going on there and i'm sure alot of people on here would love that scenario! I would love to know your thoughts on how you came to this, Because it's certainly an interesting outcome
  11. Well what kind of a week we are going to have this week regarding the models, folks. The ECM, JMA this morning are still holding on to thoughts of an Easterly and the rest are not having any of it. My thoughts on this is that, It's messy and the models are really having problems dealing with the blocking/HP to the East and i still think there maybe a few surprises in store, Its either an Easterly or a Westerly, Which one i favor, Your guess is as good as mine . My final thoughts on this is, If the ECM forgets the idea later, Well we'll be back to square one! But you never know the GFS/UKMO may do a you turn later when the 12z comes out, Certainly interesting, But it's all in the hands of Mother nature her self and we all know how quickly she can change Just looking at 06z GFS, Its showing hints towards the ECM already, The GFS is further west.... But i've always found the GFS to be too progressive, especially when there's blocking involved.

  13. The best they can expect is sleet and only if the precipitation is heavy enough, Even at 300m the Dew points are to high tonight.
  14. Thats why 'goodish' was said, HP with not much of the white stuff Metcheck use data from the CFS for there monthly forecast, So looking at this chart below you would think you would see more snow, Especially for the south of the UK, But then again this a 12z run, Metcheck maybe showing in there forecast data from an earlier run, But who cares, Forget the finer details this is just a trend, Feb looks promising
  15. Long way off yet, But Feb looks goodish.... http://www.metcheck.com/UK/180days.asp?MonthOf=2&zipcode=Glossop&day=1&locationID=57453&lat=53.4&lon=-1.9&findtype= http://www.metcheck.com/UK/180days.asp?MonthOf=2&zipcode=Solihull&locationID=56862&lat=52.4&lon=-1.8&findtype=
  16. Well, i wasn't expecting last nights temps to be that low, I had a low of -3.8c and even now the cars and grass around here are still covered in thick frost. And i suspect that today won't warm up to quickly either.....Cool
  17. Add a touch of chili powder and coriander that'll warm you up.
  18. Yes we've had good winters over the last few years and thinking back i do remember the snowless ones also, We were lucky at times just to get a frost and maybe a flake or two.
  19. I'm sort of in a urban area here but my abode is right next to a big park and it can be a lot lower here than a mile up the road where its a lot more urbanized. I guess Lilleshall is quite rural so you'll be expecting the -3's then
  20. At 2pm my local Met'O site http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/wm/coleshill_latest_weather.html was showing 6.5c, But then at the same time myself/B'ham Airport was showing 4c. i'm now showing 5.6c..... I'm sure it will drop as soon as the sun sets
