    Temperature was up to 22.4C at around 12:00 and even with the very brisk wind, it was warm in the sunshine. The rain moved in around 13:00 and the temperature dropped to around 19-20C. A huge burst of rain (began at 15:30) which flooded much of Blackpool temporarily put the temperature down to 15.2C, the weather from 15:30-16:00 was really very remarkable to witness and drive in.     Whilst it won't be "hot" in the NW, 22-25 still looks likely. 22C-23C for coastal areas like Blackpool and 25C for Manchester.

    Even in the NW 22-25 looks likely (22-23 on coasts and 24-25, maybe 26 in Manchester) so it'll be warm with a nice southerly breeze, perfectq! To be honest - due to the high humidity - 27-31 would feel oppressive. Being in the Eastern half of the UK will real rather unpleasant this weekend in my opinion.

    Impressive and surprisingly enjoyable low pressure system this week and I'm certainly enjoying it so far. Sunday, yesterday and today have been above average temperature wise and today has been sunny all day long. Awesome thunderstorm last night too!

    23.2C here in Blackpool today with gorgeous blue skies and warm southerly wind. It's gorgeous out there!

    Having a blast in this storm! Video'd bits early on before it got a bit too intense and I had to come in, still quite impressive though it'll be on Youtube in a few minutes! Two storms in a week so far, really impressive!

    Extremely loud thunderstorm in the night in Blackpool. I believe the first bang was around 02:38am. Does anyone have any radar images? Very much looking forward to this upcoming warm spell. For once, it seems us northerners will be included!

    Not everywhere, whilst 23-26C will be widespread across NW England tomorrow (excluding poor Cumbria) it won't be wall-to-wall sunshine. Ah well, I won't b*tch and moan about it as Northern Ireland, Scotland and Cumbria have got the short end of the stick as per usual Lovely isn't it? Even the wind still feels warm. This isn't a patch on the last 10 days of May though, with that perfect Euro high <3

    Now it's cooled down a bit it's lovely outside, sitting outside evening weather is one of my favourite things about warm spells and makes me envious of warmer climates when it's cool here!

    ECM outlook better than the GFS in my opinion. When the Northerly moves away after the weekend, it shows a low over us and the low is assosiated with some very warm air, uppers of 13-15C over Scotland. I imagine the low would be humid, feeling hot in any sunshine and giving us some nice thunderstorms. It's a much better outlook for heat and storm lovers!

    Maxed out around 23C, it's awfully muggy in NW England though!

    Got down to around 9C earlier this morning, up to 13.2C now with blue skies, absolutely lovely! Wind is SSE and very light.

    The signals for change are indeed showing now! Perhaps we're about to have a decent August for once, it's been a long time since that happened! In the meantime this pathetic attempt at a ridge will only bring cloud and average temperatures though it'll likely feel warm to most after the dismal temperatures of recent. Fingers crosssed for the 18z this evening!

    To be honest, here in Blackpool, the last 6 days starting Saturday have been the best of the summer thus far - even though the same can certainly not be said for the rest of the country! Saturday was beautiful and it got up to around 23.5C. It's been sunny and relatively warm every day since! Even today got up to 20C and it's been sunny. Still 18C now @)
