Just a few mountains away. It's looking good. Overnight snow is what you want. Allows a good covering on the road.
I'm on hols Monday & Tuesday. Mixed feelings about that really.Could I have had a day off anyway? At least I won't have to pretend to work from home this time.
I know what you mean but the very slow progression of the front has got to be a good thing which increases your chances in my opinion. Forecasts are never too reliable with snow.
Keep positive!
Latest BBC forecast shows the precip hitting west coast at 5am Sunday. It makes very slow progress east. Turning to snow Sunday evening. Comment of "we are keeping a very close eye on this" sounds very encouraging
Looks like Wales will see the coldest temps late next week and into next weekend. Maybe because of a few feet of lying snow!
Models just get better & better.
I know what you mean. It's getting worse.
I popped in for 5 minutes and developed a migraine. None the wiser to boot
Showers seem to be dying out so may not be much to watch tonight. Plenty of opportunity over the next week though.
I hope so although I'm starting to think this winter is getting away from us. I know I'll be told there's probably 2 months of potential left but I get the feeling we'll be tantalisingly close but will miss out this year. Fingers are always crossed though.
I tend to agree. We had a few mm of slush pre Christmas. Very poor.
The models are always showing potential but keep pushing it further and further away. I'm personally not interested in cold/snowy weather after Feb.
It was always very unlikely to have another cold one. Although it dosen't have to be a cold average to have a few snowy days.
I guess we have a few weeks of frustrating model watching left to take us to the end of Feb. I for one would be surprised to see anything significant in terms of cold. I hope I'm wrong
Countryfile forecast showed some potential for snow showers on Friday. In fact the temperatures shown were a few degrees down compared to the country tracks forecast this morning
April & May are usually classed as spring according to most people
We are heading into the 2nd half of winter. The period most likely to give us cold & snow. I'll give you that one
After a wobble yesterday, looks like the models are firming up on something a lot more interesting this morining. Some very exciting prospects offered this morning.
This winter looks like having a sting in it's tail. Can't wait!
Although the models are flip flopping (sure sign of uncertainty) there does seem to be something afoot. A cool down this weekend after another mild spell then anything could happen. The 2nd half of Jan and Feb look interesting at this point.
My personal preference would be a good week or 2 of cold/snowy weather. I'm not really after another record breaking month. Wouldn't hear me moaning if that happened though.
