Wind and lashing down here with temp starting to drop - was 8.9 an hour ago now 8.3. I like it :-)

Blimey Eno on BBC isn't hopeful of anything wintery for us :-(. I'm not asking for much, just an inch of snow overnight on Sat would do me!

Still here and still hopeful for a few flakes of snow in the next week. After that though I may hibernate until the first sniff of a summer storm is in the air :-)

I love snow - probably more so because I've seen so little of it during my 40 something years on the earth :-). Let's face it, if we were snowed in with -10 for months on end each year even then my bet is a lot of us would get fed up with it. We enjoy the excitement of will it/won't it each winter. Same goes for Summer heatwaves and thunder storms.
As sad as it is to have a non descript winter - without this it wouldn't be half as exciting when it does actually snow for us.
Just my feelings of course.

I was led to believe that 'Global Warming' could lead to both hotter summer months and also colder winters so you may well witness another plunge into the freezer Mike :-)

I don't know what's more depressing - being off work with my sick child, being off on leave last week waiting for snow that never came or knowing its going to snow on someone else this week grrrr :-(

Well it went down to -4.7C overnight, and the greenhouse door opened with the wind, damaging lots of plants in there (terminally), so right now cold is my arch enemy, I'll be waiting for the Atlantic to snuff it out soon. I've lost alot of value in there, I reckon over £200.. so the cold can p*** off back to Russia.
Sorry about your plants but you know where I stand on cold - bring it on LOL :-)

Distance between Liverpool -Manchester is 26 miles completely insignificant in weather terms, don't believe these town forecasts, from that data you would assume the front is only about 5 miles wide ? Once the front hits the NW of the region
tomorrow, we will know a lot more
You couldn't be mor wrong - The distance and Liverpool being on the Mersey/Irish Sea is massively significant. Our weather is very different !
