Snow-Forecast keeping things for the majority of the UK, the new 4-6 day charts has 10-25cm of snowfall across northern parts of Wales most likely in association with the cold front behind this, much talked about, warm front.
I guess I should throw a link in there aswell for that http://www.snow-forecast.com/maps/dynamic/uk
That look very promising over the next week - any chance of re-posting this in the North West thread to cheer us all up ? :-)
-
-4.0 over here on the coast
-
BBC weather forecast just now looked rather snowy for the whole of the North West so they're not taking much notice of the 18z :-) :-)
Darn ..... Beaten to it already !
-
0.2 here at the moment .... Still lower than Hilbre Island though so mustn't grumble LOL
-
had 30 CMs last year here on the coast, but was a once in a lifetime event.
I got about 2.5cm thats all last year (you could see the blades of grass sticking up.. so yep..
Over here in Wallasey I saw 5 inches December 2010 and fifteen years prior to that we had the same amount, both lasted weeks before any thaw. Amazing what a difference a few miles can make!
My profile pic was taked December 2010 in a park right next to the Irish sea :-)
-
Harsh climate has just posted that he predicts anywhere west of the Pennines will see NO SNOW!
Boo hiss ;-(
-
The BBC graphics show the front making it into NW England but only as rain whilst they have Wales and parts of the SW under snow
I'm hanging on to the knowledge that the MET are occasionally wrong :-)
-
Need it to shift east by 50 miles! :-)
Bit further
West is best :-)

Today on facebook by Mark Vogan!
While an area from Norway through Russia down to Bulgaria may be cold just now... this is nothing compared to the period starting Sat-Sun through at least mid next week where a wall of intense Siberian air roars in. First Russia, then Poland then Germany eventually knocking on the door of France, low countries, UL, Ireland by end of next week. Hope these governments are aware of what's coming.
Hmmm ?

That's it, I give up. Not a hope in hell of getting any decent snow this winter where I live :-(. I will just have to put the sledge back in the garage and hope we have a great spring and summer instead. :-(
-
I live in the north, of course not.
T shirt weather is this :-)
-
Crosby recorded 67mph gust this evening - I thought is was worse than the other day and for us here it is!
-
Wind picking up in west kirby, near by hllbre island weather station averaging 48 knots (58 mph) 57 knot gusts (65 mph), earlier on the windsurfing world speed record may have been broken on the marine lake at 57 mph in f8 to f9 winds.

Speed sailing video from today.
Nice -apart from the music ;-)

The wind has really picked up again here within the last 20 mins - sounds very fierce and even with double glazing my light shade started swinging around with the last gusts!
At 2000hrs MetO recorded a gust of 72mph at Crosby this evening and I would say we've had some stronger ones since.

I've always hated pink until I started looking at these LOL :-). Ahh such a fabulous time with the sledge and then 3 year old. Hope we can see the likes of that snowfall again.
-
Looks like I'll be missing out on the strongest gusts too :-(
-
Have a real goodun and I hope Santa delivers some nice cold model runs to those who want it :-)

5.1 here and no snow :-(

Just had another peer into the model discussion thread, really wish I hadn't.
Atlantic storms - run up to Christmas thread is more interesting if you're looking for some movement in our weather this week. That's where I'll be lurking for the next day or two.
-
I'm still here ..... Only posting so I can see if my signature amuses anyone or is it just me? I need a gin after peeking at the model discussion thread :-(
