It looks beautiful out there. All the branches on the trees are coated because of the lack of wind, Fingers crossed for many more snow events to come - maybe not this year but there's always next :-)

Im in Llandudno right now and it's raining heavily, but a certain amount of proof there is loads more on the way..

The roads around here were not gritted today so they're in a real mess now with this snow. The council will be praying for the forecast warm up and rain later to wash it away.

Temp has been falling steadily all evening here although it was supposed to rise?? Gone down from 0.9 to 0.2 and snowing happily out there :-)

Slushy rain has even turned back to snow here in costa del Wallasey - and it's sticking to the slush :-) oooo how lucky am I lol ;-)

In the words of my son - 'it's like Christmas isn't it mummy'. It does bring out the inner child :-)
It also lifts my mood to see everything bright white and the roads are quiet as the cars edge along at a sensible speed.

+1 I've been trying to get a similar message across myself, but a few here seem to hang onto every forecast/person that suggests cold. Your right if its cold you seek then the models paint a very poor picture, similar to the output in December. Remember then when we had a piece of the PV lobe moving out of Canada and how some suggested it was coming, we all know the rest. Luckily things can and do change quickly in the model output, more so this winter.
Sorry but I think you're both missing the fact that a large proportion of model thread readers/contributors in winter just want to be optimistic of cold weather dominating. Just as through the summer many want a decent amount of warmth and sunshine. Nothing wrong in hoping for what we want and supporting those who put in so much work into their analysis and posts which appear to point in our desired direction.

I'd rather it go milder now to be honest.. prolonged cold I find really irritating. I can never get fed up of Atlantic storms, but somehow snow and ice and frigid temperatures lose their appeal after a few days.
I love storms too but prolonged disruptive snow gets my vote during winter ;-)

Think there might be some rather breezy conditions next weekend. I'll look forward to that during the 'less cold' blip, I love a good storm. :-)

Temp dropped from 1.7 to 1.3 in half an hour! Light Snow falling again but the snow from this morning pretty much went to slush.

Significant melt going on over here. Stopped snowing now and temp up to 1.5 :-(

Temp rising here now and the snow is very wet on the ground. Reckon a lot of this will melt this afternoon.

Not sure how useful my weather app is but it's showing snow over us for at least another couple of hours! This is better than Friday :-) Just hope it doesn't melt before my some gets out of school.

Interestingly I can see the moon from time to time, so the clouds are fairly thin, if I can glimpse the moon at times.
Same here :-) still light snow - just about sticking but very wet so I expect it to be nothing more than a slush layer by morning.
