  1. Not bad here, settling on the roads & it's heavy enough to make driving with high beam on a tad challenging lol.
  2. Weather app says snow, not that I trust it, sat in my car with the heating going & outside temp currently - 1, hard frost on cars still.
  3. Latest met office update on their youtube channel is saying & I quote 'significant snowfall in Northern Ireland, southwest England & wales', sounds nice, we'll see what happens. Video was uploaded 3 hours ago so not sure how accurate the data is now though.
  4. The mod thread is turning into the midlands thread, they all want the snow, well hasn't that area had snow already out of this weather pattern we've been in for a while where all we've had down here is rain! Well tonight I'm being Mr scrooge & the greedy midlanders can bugger off lol, hope it just strikes the the south west & far south, if only so I can see how many !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sheikky or whatever his name is now can come out with when the snow misses him
  5. Ian you tease! Wonder what Feb has to offer us in terms of snowy prospects.
  6. After last years bust and 1st Feb 2019 being the last decent snowfall, I'll take that 1 to 3cn, just to see snow falling would be nice to be honest.
  7. Yeah, news 24, waiting for a met office youtube update video that covers Sunday to see what they show.
  8. National weather forecast looks good for our region early hours of Sunday morning, showed a band of snow crossing & nothing marginal about it.
  9. Nothing 'wow' about those charts for here, every time I see the phrase 'most of the country' with regards to snowfall I know exactly what the charts will look like before I even see them lol This current pattern is so damn annoying for the far south, need to get that jet running further south but that doesn't look likely
  10. Why? The meto have a lot more data to look at than what we have access to on this & other sites & that could still be indicating the colder scenario being the way forward.
  11. You South easterners think you have it bad, try living in the south west! Things have certainly changed over the decades with our climate that's for sure as I've lived in North Somerset all my life & I can remember so many times as a kid walking to and from school in the snow in the 80s, having schools closed due to deep snow or closing early because heavy snow was forecast. The classic battleground between cold & mild can really deliver down here but that's the problem, in recent decades the whole pattern has shifted further north & east to the point where in most situations you can draw a perfect arc over the south west of the uk, covering parts of wales & into central southern england where we get rain & everywhere else is seeing snow.
  12. I'd rather have that cool dry spell back thanks, nice frosty mornings beats this crud we have at the moment!
  13. Well according to this the met Office are talking about more snow & ice into next week although they don't know where or when any will fall but they certainly ain't going for anything mild.
  14. Well god damn, wouldn't that be a kick in the nuts if it actually ended up like that, that lp needs to get trending further south lol
  15. Great to hear reports of snow falling from some of you, don't think any was forecast, just drizzle/rain here.
  16. Squeaky bum time for our region with what some of the weather models are showing into next week with 'battleground' scenarios, that's very high risk, high reward for us in the far south & south west. Wouldn't mind a repeat of Dec '81, that had low pressure systems just passing to the south but not too close that the cold air was pushed away from the far south
  17. Just come in to post about that, only a small chance at the moment according to the wording but there were no warnings at all earlier on. This is why I do find it amusing seeing people in the mod thread posting with such confidence about there not being much snow anywhere this week, they might be right but as the warning shows, things could crop up at short notice.
  18. Lol yeah I noticed that, nowhere apart from up a mountain up north was going to see any snowfall apparently! Hoping to see some snow flakes mixed in with the rain as that area of precipitation moves through early hours of the morning.
  19. Can you believe some were jumping ship & calling it all over after the overnight gfs run lol. Actually I reckon they we just saying what they were to get a reaction but hey ho, all forums have people like that!
  20. Check out Nick F's post in the mod thread, looking good for this area.
  21. Merry Christmas all, considering how cold it's going to be tonight I was surprised to find a hedgehog in the feeding station at 11pm! Quite a large hog so it should survive hibernation. Think that might be the last time I see him/her for a while if what the weather models have been showing becomes reality.
