  1. It would be actually, that does look south too :O, didnt think of that!
  2. Haha, it depends which way the cells come from, we have a lot of high ground, but i get what you mean, we can drive anywhere haha, been sat on Brading and Culver downs watching mainland storms before now lol
  3. Hello Neighbour, I seriously think the best bet to view the lightning coming in from a distant (if it reaches that is) You need to go either South Side of the Island or the West, the view from culver is far east, and the lightning will be behind ventnor downs, if you get what im saying
  4. That is the problem, is the ferries from this place, its so so expensive at times! But the problem I have is that me and my friend actually now get sponsored by Bournemouth News and at times channel 4 to do storm chasing around the uk, basically we was on Channel 4 for a severe weather and Thunderstorm documentary back at Christmas, but they want us to send them live footage whenever things get good basically, so im in an awkward situation whether to stay here or go to the mainland, because this could go either way haha :/
  5. Im still not overly convinced on this stuff tomorrow night, however Friday Morning and Early Afternoon looks very interesting indeed, still not sure whether to stay on the isle of wight or go for a mainland chase! As theres a chance of Elevated stuff too! Though as the day goes on, to me it looks like it just goes into a general area of thundery rain..... But it looks interesting either way
  6. We have lines of AcCas and even some small mid level cumulus around too, hopefully this is a good sign for tonight
  7. Im loving the look of it for these parts from midnight to around 6am, seems that 3am will be the time if we are to see anything. my everything is crossed includng my ears
  8. I would take the 12z for early hours of friday Morning, strong cape and some very live precipitation in that,, still got a few runs left soo heres hoping!
  9. Last 2 years were also very good years for these parts, though unfortunately i was in Guernsey last year when the island was getting battered, though i did have some good ones down there. 2013 A few occasions I remember, especially one June Morning when the channel decided to explode Elevated storms all Morning, ahhh I want those back
  10. Definatly some Interest in Tomorrow night and early Friday Morning for some possible Elevated storms/showers, areas does seem to be anywhere East of Bournemouth, and that stuff further North too. Think these will actually develop over the Channel anyway, fingers crossed!

Last week something happened which I have never seen in my life and it was really quite a special experience, the whole of the Isle of Wight Coasts was completely covered in fog, and was so miles out into the English channel, Quite a spectacular sunset was happening, watching the sun set into the fog! This is the Oratory at St Catherines point above the fog!
