The met now has two hours of heavy snow symbols on the app for 5,6pm here.
The bbc app has 8 hours of light snow symbols and 1 heavy.

Aye I got that feeling with the early signs of low flying toys in the Mad Thread.
apparently the front is to far north and it’s really frustrating when this happens.
good job the north never sees it’s snow chances “correct” south otherwise we’d be getting a bit frustrated at times
That made me laugh out loud.

It definitely feels like this is the place to be today, ie the north west.

I have to say, I do have some sympathy for the metoffice who are providing the formal public service. If they put out an early warning and nothing happens, they get slated, they don't put out an early warning and something happens, they also get slated even if they issue a flash warning. They can't win really.
The frustration from Weather enthusiasts being that we are 100% focused on our area all of the time and they are not.

What apps do people use? I have met, beeb and iPhone app but all are useless.
The beeb currently showing more than anything else as regards snowfall which is unusual.

chances of it slipping south of our region?
Well if you believe what the southern biased mod thread says then yes it probably will. I suspect that is based on preference though.

Thank goodness the snow starved south has seen some
I’ve been sick since 11pm last night and now still in bed feeling grim.
It sure does look cold outside but I won’t be experiencing it today.

Well now the moderate rain here has turned to moderate snow for a while this morning. A good example of evaporative cooling
Pray for Sidney.

Sadly the south east missed out on all of it!
The shift needed to bring you into play at this range is minuscule.

Well what a turn up.
After reading that it was game over for the cold last night we appear to be back on track this morning.
