  1. Have you disbanded your committee yet or are they still on standby Nick.
  2. We have been let down up to 48 hours before the event so just playing my cautious card but if things work out we may well be looking at a prolonged spell, here’s hoping for a snowy Westmoor!
  3. There has been so many twists and turns trying to get this easterly in place it really is hard to tell the end result. I would say it is 50/50, all hopefully will be much clearer by tomorrow evening.
  4. It may be something to do with the unseasonable warmth in the med try to work it’s way north that is causing confusion but I was not aware that the beeb were forecasting mild southerlies next week , calm you nerves and wait for the 12z and see the comments of the likes of Nick Sussex, IDO and Corinthian. My bet is that the 06z has gone off on one.
  5. I am awaiting the 12z with great interest, we do not want any further delays, Saturday seems a long time to wait for the start of the main course, In an ideal world the low to the south west would move south east not north east.
  6. Que Sera Sera as they say, I have followed this site since the early days and know we have been here before, will I ever learn. What knowledge I have gleaned leads me to the following prediction, plenty of snow for us in February but will we get the severe cold to go with it, we’ll that’s a story for the future.
  7. Hang on the indecision on the charts because of ECM still leaves us hanging on exactly what the outcome might be, it could be a huge disappointment—- or we could get buried, another 48 hours should decide it, what a performance it is to get proper cold into this country this year.
  8. Slight dusting here as well but with the ECM playing funny buggers the period it will last is open to question.
  9. The showers such as they are appear to be generally light but you should get some small accumulation , her sleet is more likely.
  10. Before the hoped for start of the fireworks so to speak there are another 21 to 25 new charts to be issued from GFS, surely there will be several upgrades and downgrades, we cannot expect each successive chart change to be an upgrade, it may go all tits up but enjoy the ride, if it’s too much for you give it a rest for a couple of days
  11. The problem with this winter in particular has been the raised North Sea temperatures, where I live there have in November, December and January where the North Sea influence here about 12 miles from the coast has turned virtually veering on the wrong side of marginal. I hope from that point of view this winter is a one off but I fear it is a result of Global Warming. It would be a sad state of affairs if low ground in the North East had to rely on the Beast every winter. Never mind things are currently looking promising after the middle of next week as folks say what can possibly go wrong!!
  12. If the charts keep their promise you will not be talking about a couple of centimetres of slush more like at least 15 cm + of lovely snow.
  13. It looks likely that we lower lying areas may have to wait till next week for our snow. Will it be snowmageddon? ten in next week!
  14. Well hopefully the long promised cold snowy spell is almost here, I will still be holding my breath for another 72 hours but confidence is growing. Member living at altitude should have a good day tomorrow.
  15. I can understand that but the charts hold loads of promise so all we can do is hope, I have to admit that by now I thought all the North East would be under a covering of snow.
  16. I hope you get lots but it seems to be dry again. the next few days should hold some interest but the main performance should come early next month.
  17. These weather situations are a nightmare for the forecasters, even now when they have decided that milder weather is the order of the day it is so finely balanced they could end up with egg on their face, obviously as A snow lover I hope they do.
  18. If my memory serves more correctly back in the sixties, these battleground situations usually went the cold way, times are different now and I have decided to throw a coin in the air and it has come down decisively for cold!
  19. RThey are just so excited to finally get some white stuf, all I have is a hard frost, but it’s just right fora walk on the golf course which is just down the road.
