  1. Hi Guys and Girls. Just got back from Lapland, after 4 fabulous days. We have had a high temp of -4 and the low of -23. We've had snow up to our waistline and it's been great. Landed back at gatwick around 4 and it felt warm.... Here are a few pics. Will post better ones tomorrow
  2. Hey Coast. You have gone down in my opinion tut tut tut. I can't believe you could even contemplate eating dog :-D My word I'm hanging big time, had my work Christmas party last night, got home at 4 this morning (much to Mrs LeighD's disgust) up at 6.30 am to get my children ready for school. Walked them to school - no way could I drive, and stumbled into work for 10 am. Got caught by my boss having a snooze in my office this afternoon. I now have to join the rest of the public on out glorious transport system..... I'm never drinking again :-) until tomorrow when I have another social gathering. To keep this post on topic - It feels a tad warmer than the last few days, and a few spits and spots of rain are starting to fall. I wish it was freezing cold though, as I could hide the fact I'm shaking due to the cold weather and not last nights / this morning alcohol.... Haha
  3. Afternoon all. Well it's been really mild here for the past three days.... Except for the three mornings and early afternoons where we have had dense freezing fog and great morning frosts and ice. So to call this weather mild hummmmm I don't think so haha. I've loved the last few days. If I can't have gale force NE / Ely winds and constant blizzards and a bit of thunder snow thrown in for good measure, then the last few days have been perfect winter weather for me. :-) Great post Reef, and thanks for the update on the Comet SteveC. I'm off now to get ready for my messy Christmas works party tonight.... I think tomorrow's school run is gonna be painful.
  4. Morning all. Bright and mild here. Just watched Arthur Christmas with my children, great film. Really gets you in the Christmas spirit.
  5. Good evening all. Oh dear oh dear... Not great charts. Me and Mrs LeighD were due our seperate Christmas work parties tonight, and the grandparents were going to be the baby sitters. Unfortunately our children have picked up a horrible bug, and bless the little fellas have been really unwell. So tonight I'm at home, while the Mrs raves it up. Thankfully though, I have a nice bottle of red which which I can enjoy. Would rather be giving it large with my work mates, but children come first, and thankfully they feel a lot better, and should be good for their Christmas party tomorrow. Have a great evening all....
  6. My good god!! I'm not a great flier, but if I was on that plane, that would turn me off flying for years...
  7. Winds have died down remarkably now. For the ones on here who are in the path of the storm surge, take care, and don't take any unnecessary risks. Remember TVs, furniture are luxury disposals. Lives are not... Stay safe
  8. Morning all. Well it was a very cold and frosty late walk home from the pub last night. I was expecting a heavy frost when I woke the morning. Instead, like many others have said, I woke to a glowing red sky. Really took me back, can't remember seeing such a prominent red sunrise like this before. Wind picking up and it feels really cold out there.
  9. Thanks so much for that link. Just looked at where we are going, and there is a good covering already . I really hope we see the northern lights... I going to have my proper camera all ready for this trip. If we are lucky enough to see them, I will take plenty of pics and post them on here for all to enjoy.
  10. Agree with you about the wind Steve. As I said on here after the 'St Jude's' storm. Wind is an invisible killer. I just hope everyone who is going to be affected by it, make the necessary precautions, and not make light of it...
  11. Evening all. A grey and dull day here today. It seems after Ian's METO update, the mood has flattened just like today's 12z in the MAD thread. I'm really excited though, only 13 more sleeps, then I'm off to take the family to Lapland for a week. I think me and Mrs LeighD are more excited than the children. Anyway all eyes down for tonight's 18z and JP's ramp charts
  12. Evening all. I've been glued to the MAD thread for the last few days. Just reading it has made me knackered haha. I can't wait for spring now. only kidding my fellow regionaires. Hope all is well all. Glad the scan went okay today MK Hey Steve C, we had an wonderful sunset here today, tried taking a picture on my iPhone but it done it no justice whatsoever.
  13. Do we still have access to the UKMO model? I have seen no comments regarding this.... Cheers
  14. Sorry to hear your sad news Bjkent. I remember when we had to have our dog put to sleep, it was so sad. My thoughts are with you and the family mate.
  15. Afternoon all Dull, damp, dismal and dark here now. Been quite mild though. At least this is my last working day of the week. A nice long weekend beckons me in 2hrs.
  16. If this winter ends up half as good as 62/63..... I will be soooooo over the moon. You've started it now MK. Next thing we will see on the Express headlines 'MKsnowangel from Netweather predicts the next big freeze, this could be, or be even worse than the great winter of 62/63' Just saying though... Haha
  17. Really pleasant day here today. Almost 100% clear skies. Although it's very chilly out there. Have a great night tonight, for the NW meet up.
  18. Hi - crystal clear here now. It's going to perfect for star gazing tonight. I think I have the same apple version of the app your talking about bjaykent, it's brill for referencing. You can also track the space station, it's a funny feeling seeing it floating above in the sky for the first time. Well done Netweather really like the upgrade. It looks and works a lot better on my phone Would just to also relay my best wishes to Jan. Hope all is okay, and your back amongst as mad weather freeks soon. Take care.
  19. Afternoon all. A better day here today. No rain, plenty of blue sky and bright sunsine. Feeling quite cold in the wind, but hey, I will take today over the last few awful days. Happy poets day
  20. Hey Steve C I saw the Orion belt tonight! Did you see it? Not to worry if you didn't, as you know it's going to be round for a while yet. I just remember you saying about it a month or two ago ðŸ‘
  21. Thanks for the update JP 👠100% clear skies now, and a cold 2c. Goodnight all.
