  1. Not until at least midnight. Still have some time to wait....
  2. Just got a charming email from my employers. It basically states that they are aware of the imposing storm, and guaranteed disruption to public transport. So on that note, could employees possibly find someone who drives to work and car share for the day.... We will be open as normal from 8am, when we expect to see you.... Nice. Rain coming down heavier now. Wind has dropped.
  3. Just been out for a walk with my children. As its half term and its now dark earlier they wanted to do a night walk, to look for bats, badgers and foxes. Saw a lot of foxes and that was about it. On a weather front, the gusts seemed to have picked up slightly, and are now more frequent. Its also started to rain albeit very lightly.... All this anticipation reminds me of snow events.... Loving it... Stay safe people, and I look forward to reading all the updates...
  4. Really gusty here now. Had a great time over the park with my children flying their kites earlier...
  5. Do you think they have extended the amber warning due to the uncertainty of the track of the low?
  6. Fair enough BB. It's good to celebrate with fireworks for a specific reason. But take for example Southend on Sea. They have a firework display every weekend, and that started two weeks ago. IMO that's far to early to celebrate firework night...
  7. Glad you got some T&L BB. It's a bit to early for a firework display don't you think? It seems now that all the shops are trying to bring all the seasonal events forward earlier and earlier. Take as an example Debenhams displaying Christmas goods in August.... The only fireworks we hear around here at the moment are kids and their bloody bangers, interspersed with the odd rocket.... Moan over 😄
  8. Evening all. I've been tucked in bed for most of the day, this flaming cold has finally beaten me after a week. Not sure if we had any storms, but the racket my kids were making, would certainly drown out the noise. When I finally got up, the garden was partly flooded, and all the drains along the road where overflowing... So we certaining had some high rainfull totals. Just looking out onto the garden now, and the skies are clear and a bright but very low moon is shining. I guess that will all change in time for tomorrow's deluge.
  9. No. I have the same app, and I think it's about as good as the BBC weather website - not very accurate or up to date.Clouding over now, doesn't bode well for later.
  10. Clearing here now mate. Hopefully the clear skies will be with you soon.
  11. Funny you post that. The other day, my wife was moaning about the traffic, and that she will be late for her hair appointment (very important I know 😄) then I started quoting facts about space the universe etc etc, and in the grand scheme of things that's pertty insignificant. She just looked at me blankly and said 'Just find a Quicker way' I'm so glad my eldest son, is interested in nature, stars and all things outdoors. So when he grows up, I will have a great companion to talk about these interesting things. BTW - If the cloud clears, I'm really looking forward to seeing the partial Lunar eclipse. I totally forgot about that, thanks for the reminder ðŸ‘
  12. Very quiet here. Then I suppose there is nothing exciting happening weather wise to talk about 😄. Been nice and sunny for the best part today, and it's felt quite muggy. Clear skies with only vaper trails and high level whispy cloud, which are being enhanced by the very bright moon. Current temp 16c.
  13. Morning all A great start to the day here. Clear blue skies, although feeling chilly.
  14. That is a very balanced, and accurate response from the MO. But unfortunately it won't be seen in the papers tomorrow, as it's not going to sell copies. It would be great if after the half hourly weather forecast on BBC News 24, and the forecasts on BBC 1&2 they showed the MO response. I'm sure that would stop a lot of people, especially the elderly and vulnerable people who don't have access to sites like this etc, worrying unduly.
  15. Evening mate. I love this time of year, the nights are drawing in, which makes it nice and cosy at home, after a long day at work. We are planning Halloween costumes for the children, going trick or treating to the neighbours and planning the last BBQ of the year (weather permitting) for bonfire night. I also enjoy reading all the winter LRF, and very soon mate the Orion belt will be inview... Happy days 😄
  16. Good evening. A very non-discript day here. The best to describe it, is not to warm or cold, but very very grey. Around 6ish, we had a rather prolonged shower, but that's now over, and all I can hear are the rain droplets falling from the leaves and trees onto the floor. Anyway I have to do my fatherly duties now. My wife is wrapping the presents, and it's my job this year to decorate the living room with balloons and banners all ready for my sons 6th birthday tomorrow😄
  17. Morning all. Has been very wet here since around 7am. Rain seems to be subsiding at the moment. Anyway the weather is not going to dampen the LeighD household, it's my son's 6th birthday party today, and we have one extremely excited little boy 😄. Have a great day guys...
  18. Been fantastic here today. Lots of warm sunshine, and very light winds. Pretty clear at the moment. Not looking forwards to tomorrow's weather. I have to travel to London on my motorbike, looks like a tricky and very wet journey.
  19. Indeed BB. But knowing the crazy British weather, it will be hot next week 😄. Oh how I love our climate.....
  20. Evening regionaires.... Cloudy and very windy here today. Even though I was expecting the drop in temps, it was still a shock to the system, after all the mild weather we have been accustom too. Seems that some parents don't watch the weather forecasts on TV. When I was on the school run this morning, numerous children were still wearing there grey school shorts.... I really felt sorry for them, and their parents looked really guilty. Mine were fine though - trousers, jumper and a coat.... Current temp 11c and we've just has a sporadic shower, in pretty much clear skies.
  21. Pretty dull, cloudy and warm today. We've had no rain, but the wind has now picked up, and the temps certainly feel cooler. Just been for a walk, and with the wind blowing, and leaves rattling around in the dark it feels pretty spooky in the non lite places. Wish it was Halloween tonight, it would of made the perfect spooky evening, and I could of scared my children even more😄, whilst they were out 'trick or treating' knocking on the neighbours doors. The Day After Tomorrow springs to mind there JP😄
  22. Evening all - I thought the site was not working (lack of posts 😜) ATVB Surrey, hope all is well with your GF and she makes a fully recovery. We've had wonderful weather here for the past few days, and even by the east coast at 8pm on Saturday night was still t-shirt weather. Still feels very warm now, but I'm really looking forward to the cool down come Thursday. It looks like the first time in 5 years I will have to ditch the shorts etc which I normally wear on my sons birthday for trousers and a long sleeved top.... This could be a sign for the winter ahead 😱..... For what, I don't really know. I guess I will find out in March 2014.
  23. Zilch here at the moment.... Even if I don't hear thunder and see lightening. Torrential rain will do ðŸ‘
