Showers now starting to turn wintry. Definitely feels alot colder out. Also I have a real feeling that Friday could be really wintry.

The whole of NI blowing through pretty quickly. I'm for Donegal with the camera tomorrow to try get photos of this big swell coming in. Could be an interesting day out!!

Angies forecast was pretty interesting at 7 there. Had constant snow showers coming in for later tonight and all day tomorrow then hinted at cold air digging in Thursday night again with more snow. I think this will be the ongoing theme of our weather for the next while with only short milder interludes between the PM air.

A miserable day out with heavy rain. Looking forward to this storm now. My new house now u as me at around 110m asl. Should give me a slightly better chence of something wintry. I think as mentioned before that this could come down to now casting with regard to any wintriness after the storm pushes through.

Can someone do me a favour and explain a short wave for me. In the model thread people post models showing a short wave but to be honest i haven't a clue how to identify it on a chart. Thanks in advance.

Born i went to photograph the Northern Lights earlier in the year. Had my battery fully charged but it still drained very fast with the cold so i bought a spare battery which is always with me in case it happens again. Here's my first attempt at the Northern Lights from Grainan Fort looking towards Buncrana

Lol Pom. No snow pics yet but I am heading to the NW coast on Wednesday with the camera. Wave heights predicted to be around 46 feet which is monstrous for our waters! Maybe even a wee trip to the Glenshane tomorrow.

Just had a nosey again in the,Model thread. I wouldn't get to down hearted just yet. There will be flips and flops and we all know that the 12z is the main run of the day so let's just see what happens later today. PS. Just had a wee nosey through the model thread(first time in days) Things are looking so good for us! Who wold have thought 2/3 weeks ago that we would be getting PM incursions out to day 10 followed by a possible northerly and a major Atlantic storm in the mix. This is real winter weather for me whether I see snow or not. In these setups all I have to do is drive 30 mins to enjoy some snow. Going to take a drive to the NW coast on Wednesday with the camera. Wave heights are forecast in the region of 46 feet!! Hopefully get some great photos!

It's bitter out today! We may see some flurrys over the weekend but I'd say the real interest is next week once the storm passes through. We couod see snow even to lower levels. Haven't looked at the model thread today yet but good to hear of upgrades. I always like to catch up after the 12z rolls out.Pom you can upload pics from your phone. Works the exact same way as on the PC.

How's it going folks. Pom I've been just having a daily glance at the forum as have been moving house the past week. Things looking good for elevated areas in the next week and the potential for a pretty potent storm next week. Interenet getting installed tomorrow again so I'll be here more often. Glad to hear that you were missing me Pom. Lol Just seen that NI weather have posted on Facebook reports of sleet tonight in places.
