  1. Thats why it was just for fun. Lol. This place would go in to melt down if that came off. And Pom a wee birdie told me that we are getting a northerly very soon. Shhhhh. Don't be telling the southerners. You heard it here first. Lol
  2. This is just for fun but look what Metcheck is showing for Derry for January on its latest update! Oh My!! Lol
  3. Thats what i normally do but wouldn't work on my phone earlier or just right click the image and click save as. This is the chart i was trying to post. Works on my PC fine.
  4. A thing of beauty on the GFSP this morning. A lovely northerly just like 2009 to get winter off to a start! If only this came true! For some reason the chart won't save for me so can't post it! In my eyes the.models are becoming more persistent in keeping the block. All to play for and could be a very interesting couple of weeks model watching. Also this is a great read on an SSW event which could widely affect us from later in December and also looks at comparisons to other events like 2009. http://www.markvoganweather.com/2014/11/22/europe-close-look-past-sudden-stratospheric-warming-events-might-coming/
  5. Well done BFTV. Here's a wee pressie from me. Lol. Imagine this came off!
  6. A lovely chill to the air this morning and also some nice charts being thrown out this morning. Hopefully the trend continues on the 12z. Getting there slowly but surely and hopefully we get the end result we have been looking for!
  7. This lake effect snow is unreal!! Up to 5 inches falling per hour for a constant 24 hours!! Amazing and very localised. From 60 inches to 3.5 inches within 6 miles! http://www.buffalonews.com/city-region/winter/five-dead-as-monster-storm-dumps-historic-amount-of-snow-20141119
  8. All hope not lost in the model output yet but to be honest it's getting a bit boring now! I would say we are still a long way off any cold spell. The models just seem stuck at the minute with no clear way to cold.
  9. Would be helpful to have charts with your posts. Thanks
  10. I take it this would result in a northerly set up?
  11. There is definitely something happening. I really don't have a clue what it is but there is. Lol
  12. Nice to see the weather settled down a bit. Just read this in the model thread. Love seeing posts like this from the more respected members and i hope he's right! BLAST FROM THE PAST Cumulonimbus Members 8,737 posts Gender:Male Location:Redhill, Surrey Posted 11 minutes ago Typing up my LRF final version as wanted to see last developments to top and tail. Models now getting very interesting, GFS 12z come on...how close? Big Steve's commentary, I'm onside....a BIG switch is coming and we won't have to wait until Christmas either, indeed get ready for winter! Coz I tell you what......I think its coming big style. BFTP
  13. There's no harm in getting an easterly but often its only south eastern parts of the province and down towards Dublin/Wicklow that benefits due to streamers forming over the Irish Sea. I'm sure some of you folk remember well 2 years ago. Especially those down around the Castlereagh Hills. I was green with envy!
  14. Thats great Born. Cheers for your thoughts. I would love a good cold spell around Xmas. Just to make it feel festive.
  15. Can someone give their thoughts on what's happening with the models at the minute. So much chopping and changing! Personally i couldn't give 2 hoots about an easterly but the model thread suggests that this is the only set up most are interested in. Personally i would prefer and full blown northerly/north easterly or something from the north west even though these can be short lived but we normally do well from them. I have to admit something seems to be brewing but i haven't a notion where we will end up! Lol
  16. Yes very wet and doesn't look like getting any better for todays flood hit areas! This could prove very bad for some areas! Taken from NI Weather on Facebook.......
  17. I've had 2 removed now Pom. Its a shame that we can't even voice an opinion in here any more, weather related or not. Lol
  18. It certainly is Storm and if the earlier rain wasn't enough then the next batch is just hitting the south coast as we speak. Some serious flooding about today.
  19. Hows it going guys. A miserable day out tonight. After a model wobble over the past few days things are starting to look good again if the 12z is anything to go by.
  20. Am just back from doing the photos in a few of the clubs in Derry and it was definitely cold walking in to the town earlier! Pom an oul Derry woman would have fairly warmed you up tonight. Lol
  21. Sorry my mistake Sundog. 2010 into 2011. Everything melted on Boxing day 2011. The cold potential is great. Eagerly awaiting to see if the 18z has been on the whiskeys! lol
  22. It sure is a buzz seeing this so early storm. Its very like 2009 if only a wee bit earlier. Back in 2009 we seen our first falling snow around the 28th November.
  23. A stonking 12z today folks!! It just keeps getting better! The only downside at the minute is that there is no cold to tap into in Eastern Europe yet but if the outputs today are anything to go by then once the building blocks are in place then there shouldn't be any issues with tapping in to the cold. I'm extremely excited about this winter now!! I always like to save the best charts of the day just so i have a record of the daily outputs. Be very interesting to see where we end up. Epic outputs at the minute!
  24. Lol. I will sort something out in the next month or 2. The woman in Derry are fine till they open their mouths. Lol
  25. I might print this out for my wall. Lol. And the trend continues!!
