  1. Left Newcastle this morning around 5.45am to head to Bolton. Ended up stranded at Whetherby instead and had to come back home. Really bad on the roads around there.
  2. It's not on the netweather free radar does the paid version go out further ?
  3. Problem is it hasn't really moved so God knows
  4. No it runs from the border to around boro but not sure what it is
  5. It had gone on the 9 and 9.15 updates. Wonder what it is
  6. It looks like it's disappeared off meteox for the 9.15 update?
  7. And then we woke up and realised we'd been dreaming lol
  8. Interesting but I can't see it on any other radar. Here's hoping then!
  9. I think it's because storm Emma is slightly further north pushing warmer air up with it. I heard that on TWO and sure someone mentioned it in the MOD thread the other day that it could happen but happy to be corrected.
  10. I agree it looks naff but the warning specifically mentions 5-10cm widely that's pretty specific (as well as over the hills). If the warning was purely for drifting then this is what it would say. They either need to take the warning down for snow or something will happen we don't know about yet.
  11. I am it's literally died off in the past hour for most places. It's only 8:15 almost so plenty time yet to stare at the radar lol
  12. Sorry had to laugh mate. It's grim but I'm holding on to hope once that LP moves a bit.
  13. it mentions them but not exclusively and if that was the case the amber warning wouldn't extend to us lower down... Snow showers will bring variable snow cover, but parts of northern England and Scotland are expected to see the most frequent snow showers. During this time, a further 5-10 cm of snow is expected quite widely. Where showers become organised though, most likely across Scotland and over the hills of northern England, some places are likely to have an additional 15-25 cm of snow. Strong winds will continue to lead to drifting of snow, and severe wind chill, while lightning could be an additional hazard, particularly near coasts. Although snow showers across northern England will ease somewhat with time, continued blowing and drifting of lying snow is likely. This warning has been updated to extend the validity period into Friday morning as well as to extend the area further south across more of northern England.
  14. I know the regional update is naff saying scattered showers but this is the amber warning for our region: Frequent and often heavy snow showers are expected to continue through Thursday and overnight into Friday morning with further significant accumulations likely. Based on that Meto must think there's a substantial risk of frequent heavy showers otherwise they'd have removed it? Saying that there's time for them to do that I suppose but by now I'd have thought they would have.
  15. What radar and app is that? And do you mean extend north or south?
  16. Im not that far from you as the crow flies so would be similar for my location but like you I'm not sure how at the minute lol We need that LP system to go west quickly.
  17. Well what a let down then. The latest Meto forecast has basically downgraded the snow showers - I mean scattered wintry showers in an amber warning?
  18. The wouldn't cover themselves with an amber warning...
  19. What time is the LP supposed to head west?
  20. I agree I am certainly not snow starved but I am greedy in set ups like this and just want more and more lol
  21. The clue is in the writing - perhaps a little less cold lol 1c won't be melting snow fast and also continued risk of snow showers so happy days!
