    Pretty surreal makes it look even more deep winter. Can't believe we've got this so close to Spring after a non eventful winter so far lol

    Got a nice beefy one headed my way now it's been a good night so far. Easily 3-4(ish) cm more from the showers that have passed over and the main event (amber warning) hasn't even arrived yet! Poor Consett although it does snow in August up there doesn't it?

    It's something to do with the fact they're convective I think.

    The black squiggly line that looks like someone has drawn it on 1st fax it's just off the east coast from our region. 2nd fax there's 2 which are shown left to right off the coast.

    The North Sea looks lit up like an Xmas tree on the radar. I know there are gaps now in the showers but remember once the true cold passes over it will intensify and create disturbances in the flow as well. All to play for I can't wait to see how this pans out! This region does very well out of these set ups and usually a large part of the it too!

    I agree you're better off coming up the A19 and coming off the A1231 through Washington to the A1. Stick to the main routes and you'll have a better chance.

    Some beefy showers about to make landfall and Boro etc look to also be in the firing line

    Have you even checked the radar? Boro / Stockton look like having some showers very soon!

    And it starts folks. The North Sea has come alive and if you look most of the region looks to be hit with heavy snow showers it's just a case of wait your turn in reality. Here's to a sleepless night!

    Easily another 2cm dropped from that shower. I've already swept the snow from the paths just before it hit.
