    Huge raindrops now and constant thunder air has gone very strange! How is that storm stalled just south of me and is intensifying?? Massive shotgun thunder over me now and forked lightning. This is intense man, probably the most intense I have seen in years up here anyway!

    lmao I was watching it from the west peter, it seems to be backbuilding to the south. I can still hear it rumbling away!

    I can hear almost constant thunder now very deep booming from my south sky is amazing with cloud formation I have took some pics and will upload later!!!!

    The risk time for the Northeast is from 3pm - 12am according to some so there is plenty of time. That shower was Anyway here's to an interesting afternoon hopefully although I am just radar watching. That shower has really beefed up and there's another 2 behind it. Seems to still be a tad too far west for a direct hit but still exciting non the less! :-))

    It looks like things could be breaking now across the NE as the shower to the south of Newcastle has intensified rapidly too. That looks like a corker to the North mind! EDIT: There is anopther shower developing quickly below that one too they appear to be forming in a South to North line?

    Another shower breaking to the south of the first one paralel with Durham and intensifying quickly. Things appear to be moving but whether they become electrified is another story.

    Just noticed that but too far west for me! Very warmand humid here and the sky is milky blue. Just been outside at work and was sweating within a few minutes!

    Hi, Sorry to ask but can I ask what you are basing that on? The experienced forecasters are saying there is a risk to a wide area (albeit the south and EA are more prone for the best storms) but a risk non the less? Just curious in case you had any additonal information that could help?

    Be good if it comes off, as the forecaster shares my name in full (and I thought for a second I had given an interview in mty sleep), I am hoping this is a good sign :-)))) Already heating up in the north obviously nowhere near the temps down south but encouraging all the same. Interesting radar day me thinks!

    Can anyone confirm this http://www.ukweatherworld.co.uk/forum/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=43645&posts=5 last post. Seems to place northeast england in a tornado and storm risk. Is this just because it's up until 9pm tonight and then the action starts further south? The forecasts are confusing, at first I didn't think the north stood a chance!

    BBC weather have had the northeast under a blanket of coud on this mornings forecast but I can confirm very warm sunny and humid! Also local Look North have said they are expecting some thunderstorms with a few inches to fall this afternoon and evening although they didn't say where in the region! Can't wait to see the pics from further south into Lincs and EA. Wish I was still living in Aldershot I would have gone chasing meself!

    Heavy rain in Gateshead now and the sky to my west is black and very stormy looking cant believe noone is reporting thunder?

    Well to me they appear to be headed in a straight line but as you say anything could happen including nothing at all lol

    No I think the top sections are but the middle and bottom sections are looking like they will go through Gateshead and Newcastle and exit towards the Whitley Bay area no? (Maybe Killingworth...)

    Hello Alza, not spoke since the snow events of last November but gimme your thoughts! I have been watching those since they started off Lancaster a while ago and they are intensifying somewhat....
