  1. Is it me or does anyone else like the look of those cells or showers that have formed NE or Lancaster? They appear to be merging and there are some showers popping up ahead of them too. Mind you MetO have now changed their forecast from this morning "a very slight risk of a thundery shower for northern England" to "some storms are likely to rattle on in to the night over northern England" just shows you how things can change on the day or hour!
  2. Dont take any notice Harry just nowcast. Estofex have had most of the North / Central UK on a level 1 today and all we have seen or heard rather are a few measly rumbles and a few flickers of lightning (although the cloud bursts looked great) lol Just see what happens on the day Either way the south looks like getting some action!
  3. Heat is very different to humidity and you will probably find that it's the humidity that people are complaining of. It's horrible mate give me scorching temps and low humidity any day ;-)
  4. Cheers PP take it that it didn't last long? Wish it would clear the air a bit its really muggy as I am sure it is un Durham!
  5. Deep rumbling coming from my south/southwest now I think it's from the storm over Durham. Black clouds are rolling in now and some more cloud bursts forming in the north sea from what I can see. Could be an active night up here and down towards Liverpool in a line. :-))
  6. Think it's a tad further north from Boro TBH. I am watching a storm here thats currently in the Houghton area and very impressive cloud burst just watched it get heavier and heavier and now the odd flicker of lightning. I am on a top floor flat btw thats how I can see! Very impressive although wouldn't like to be out in that downpour. I am about 7 miles away from the CB and it's still muggy and sticky here.
  7. Has that blob electrified as it moves North? Sorry haven't got access to see. I know the ones off the Northeast coast have (as reported on theweatheroutlook) but just wondered about the one that started near Preston....
  8. Loving that picture of the cat it's doing what I feel like doing! Not sure on temps up here but humidity seems to have risen its unbearable for me I enjoy the heat but not with the humidity - horrible!! lol
  9. Can see some cracking cloud bursts out in the north sea here from Washington. Just wished they had intensified over land first lol
  10. Youy lucky people down there, all I can say is it's completely miserable up here dark grey and murky. Saying that the cloud bases are rotating quite fast and the rain is intensifying but thats all it is RAIN - would much rather have a nice storm!
  11. A'reet Peter, it's tanking it down now, it's on it's way over to you. No thunder or anything yet like and I am not expecting any just s shame I am off out in this. Would much prefer sun and thunderstorms anyone would be forgiven for thinking it was Autumn out there!
  12. Rain is starting to intensify up here now, probably wont electrify but we can hope... Just been to the shop and I swear with the wind and rain it feels like January out there it's ******* freezing! EDIT: It's hoying down now, no sign of thunder but wind has really picked up....
  13. Well it won't be for the Northeast of England with the huge cloud and rain mass slowly creeping in off the coast. Never mind there's bound to be other days
  14. There appears to be some shower activity crossing Leeds at present but over the past hour it has grown and looks like it has intensified (slightly) looks like headed straight up the east coast towards Newcastle area, but that all depends on whether it electrfies and doesn't fizzle out by the time it gets here! Good luck to everyone today - as always don't hold your breath for too long (that's what I have learned anyway!)
  15. Good size hail and thunder repeatedly in the Washington area. I can see black clouds to my southeast and flashes of lightning. Also 2 huge rainbows lol
  16. Aye the skies are black to my southeast and I can hear the all too familiar sounds of distant thunder lol
  17. Swear I can hear distant rumbles every now and again last one just a minute ago.... Sky has gone dark and everything seems still no rain or anything else though... EDIT: It's definately distant rumbling like, I know I am not imagining it, just started raining here now albeit lightly..
  18. Is it even raining there?? lol There's some lightning showing up around the Lockerbie area but that's too far west form you...hmm heavy rain on the radar unless it's fizzled out in the last 15 mins I am only using raintoday free one
  19. Where in the Borders are you mate, that lump of rain just above Galasheils looks interesting?
  20. Some intensification just above Newcastle now (on the radar), seems to have pepped up in last half hour heres to (probably nothing) lol We have had 2 thunder days here so far this year, and after the snowstorms and thundersnow of November I think it is nice that some areas that haven't seen any storms (if you can call them that) to get some beefy showers ;-)
  21. Sky has gone very dark to the west of me (Newcastle) but I can't see anything on the radar?
  22. Just up the road from here and a sobering reminder http://www.bbc.co.uk...d-tyne-13509428 It's still really wild here, constant heavy gusts probably one of the worst wind storms I have seen for ages even for the north, and in May makes it seem all the more strange. I am off down the coast to see what it's like down there I will get some pics for later.
  23. Winds picking up again here too, some really strong gusts currently...
  24. Just looked at Northeast England's regional forecast and they say the wind speed will increase during the afternoon - cumbrian fells could top 100mph this afternoon they say with the rest of the region 70mph gusts..
  25. Winds have really picked up here now, very strong gusts, some branches have come loose now. A lot worse over the border but definately increasing winds here now...
