  1. Is the band of PPN in the channel heading slowly norh into Devon & Dorset expected to fizzle out or steer NE? It looks to be intensifying in the channel!! Don't think it's electrical though!!
  2. Yep, that's what's happened all summer here!! Our best shout for thunderstorms is a plume type event, but the couple that there has been this year have been too far east!! Still going to watch tonight though, something in me is telling me too just incase!!
  3. With all the forecast action in the SE tonight I thought I would come in here and have a winge!! I want a storm, it's not fair!! I haven't had a storm in years now and other places who have had storms might be getting more! It's not fair!! ( kicks legs and has a paddy )! Stupid weather!!! Lol!!
  4. Don't storms usually become quite common in Sept and Oct too? What with the warm summer air being shunted away by polar air etc!! I remember many storms in the last 10 years during Autumn months!! Still all too play for, for large parts of the country this week, so if like me, tonight is a no show, there are still chances, especially Friday for more thundery activity! Back to tonight, lot of forecasters warning of flash flooding, travel distruption etc in the London/SE area during tomorrows rush hour so be warned you lot down there!! Enjoy though anyway!
  5. With the summer were having over here, I'll happily take sporadic embedded activity!! I'm hoping to get up to 3 claps of thunder tonight!! Lol!! Good luck all anyway!! Aside from tonight, Thursday/Friday currently looking good for some widespread thundery showers!!
  6. We should be so lucky to get anything in our part of the world Jane!! Not much support for thundery activity this far west!! Nevertheless I shall be staying up just in case a miracle does happen!!!
  7. According to Ian Fergusson it's just going to be rain, rain and more rain for us here!! You never know though, just gotta hope!!
  8. My local forecaster isn't expecting nothing thundery in my region! However it could be interesting for London/SE!!! Here's his latest tweets from Ian Fergusson W Country & SW less likely to see t-storm issues tonight, but still lots of uncertainty on rain totals here. UKMO UK4 model still says v wet It could be a very lively night across SE & London into early hours Tues AM; potential for disruptive rain & lots of lightning there....
  9. Considering most people that aren't going abroad will be heading to Devon and Cornwall in the coming days and weeks the output by all models isn't that bad really! Granted it could be better nationwide but there are still plenty of positives to take from them! The GFS and UKMO show dry and warmer conditions in the west and south west still, with temps in the low to mid 20s!! Not so good in the north and east due to that Low in the north Sea! ECM has the warmth and sunnier weather across much more of the country brining pleasently warm sunny days to much of England and Wales!! All models show an improvement next week and all models show settled and warmer weather over the south western quarter of the country so if your of to the Cornish Riveria next week expect sone pleasently warm summery conditions!! Nothing stopping the ECM from verifying either just because it's on it's own doesn't mean it's wrong!!
  10. What's everyones perception on the duration of the probable settled spell approaching us? Whilst a few nice warm days would be nice, it wouldn't really make me jump for joy! I'm hoping for a couple of weeks of nice warm sunny weather to enjoy!
  11. As the models are all pretty dire for any summery weather, a crumb of hope maybe offered with the Met Office!! Their 6 - 15 dayer suggests warm and less unsettled conditions in central and south eastern England for next weekend! ( Sorry Northerners )! Perhaps the GFS FI shouldn't totally be ignored then as that's the only model that I can see with any settled and warm conditions at the end of next week!!
  12. Very weird! Just been on the BBC forecast for Bristol and on Wednesday and Friday there is a thunderstorm symbol there ( not thundery shower one but a thunderstorm one )! Don't think I've ever seen that before! I hope it's right but I just can't see where they get that from!! Thundery shower maybe but thunderstorm????? Edit: Which at 21.00 as been replaced by the light rain symbol and heavy shower symbol which unfortunately is probably the more likely outcome!! D'oh!
  13. I thought it was heading straight for us too, but alas no, it saw us and crossed the channel! Nothing much out there for us now!! One positive, it was closer to us than we were expecting!!
  14. Definetly nothing here mate! Blue sky here now after an earlier light shower! All the heavier showers/storms went across the channel and up through Cardiff area! Its game over in Bristol, plenty of blue sky coming my way now!!
  15. some stuff coming up through Devon though, don't know whether it's thundery or anything though! TORRO is interesting for us too!! Clutching straws I know!!
  16. it's going N/NE though so whilst Wales might do well, it doesn't look like affecting England at all ( maybe the far NW ) unless an eastwards turn is expected! ( sorry probably a bit IMBY here )
  17. I like that forecast very much!! ( from an IMBY perspective of course ). I hope it comes of like that, there will be a lot of happy Englishmen if it does!
  18. Loving the big fat ????? IMBY!! Radar Watching it is then!
  19. My Post was from an "IMBY" perspective! Plenty to look forward to further east!! And still interesting radar watching tomorrow for my region!! Im hoping for something but not expecting, to save dissappointment!! There is potential pretty much anywhere though!!
  20. From the Met Office Monday: After a bright start further east, increasing amounts of cloud will bring a risk of thundery showers through the afternoon, particularly across Dorset, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire. Maximum temperature 24 °C. Updated: 1810 on Sun 26 Jun 2011 So I wouldn't give up just yet! Although admittedly, as time goes by its looking less and less likely! Still makes good radar watching tomorrow!!
  21. BBC forecast had showers breaking out in south west England, moving N/NE/E, turning thundery has they move into the south and east Midlands, and becoming intense and growing in Eastern England and East Anglia! Roughly how, IMO, things will turn out!!
  22. I noticed that Jane, Gloucester, Wiltshire and dorset according to them!
  23. Your going the wrong way! Lol! I'll let you know if you miss anything!!
  24. just been on their site and it hasn't been updated since 04.49 this morning! Possibility of thundery rain spreading from the south west!! I wouldn't get your hopes up for us anyway, the odds are stacked against us for getting anything tomorrow, just radar watch, and you never know, stranger things have happened! I'm contemplating getting the train to Reading tomorrow ( that's as far east as I can get due to family committments ) and seeing what turns up there!
