  1. Suddenly the sky has really started to clear, still some thick cloud around but also fair bit of blue sky. Temps starting to rise now, 19.4 degrees AT, 18.9 DP.
  2. A few bits of blue sky appearing now. Very impressive storms in Northern France at the minute which should push north and some showers building in Cambridgeshire too, one over Cambridge at 13:30 looks pretty heavy but no T/L. Edit: Think the French storms will miss most of SE/EA but Canterbury looks in for a pounding.
  3. Seems to be brightening up outside, really hope the sun can come out soon so some convection can kick off .

  5. Look to be in a reasonably favourable area today, excited by the chances of some storms .
  6. Torrential rain for 15 or so minutes here, only heard some very distant thunder though.
  7. Very heavy rain here, torrential infact, no thunder or lighthing though.
  8. After the 2 early storms its all gone quiet here, need some convection to kick off in the Beds, Bucks region soon if I am going to see any more storms today.
  9. Yeah, reading through the convective general discussion it looks like I am in the highest risk area, finished college for the day, so an afternoon of radar watching .Also did your area manage to avoid the worst of the flooding coast?
  10. Two thunderstorms passed through my location so far today, first one was bigger than the second but missed that as was inside at a university convention . Second cell I did se torrential rain, couple of strikes and some thunder from though. Came as a surprise as didnt realise there was a storm risk today .

  12. As expected, very heavy rain has been coming down for the last 10 minutes or so, no thunder or lightning though.
  13. 3 small cells lined up heading this way, surely one will hit me, hopefully second storm in 3 days
  14. Don't want to jinx it but looks to be a couple of big cells heading my way, torrential rain and some sferics, fingers crossed.
  15. The heavy rain managed to pass just to my south, saw just a little very light rain, oh well.
  16. True yeah, not sure how it will keep going but Im pretty sure it will hit MK, heading for my location, but surely it wont last the 60 miles or so to me.I'm just hoping some convection kicks off in our region soonish.
  17. Good to see the convection firing up in the east country, feeling quite confident we in the east will be seeing some decent thunderstorms later. Was expecting temperatures to peak between 21 and 23 degrees today but up to 24.8 degrees so temperature is on our side when it comes to convection. Going to enjoy watching the radar over the next couple of hours . also wow at the Swindon/Oxford cell, lots of sferics and torrential rain coming out of that, appears to be growing still too.
  18. All day was lovely and sunny, then a great afternoon thunderstorm, now sunshine and 22 degrees, perfect summers day weather IMO.
  19. wow thats unlucky (or lucky if you dislike storms), here in sawtry we got torrential rain and lots of T&L, just shows how localised it all is.
  20. Yeah I guess its just personal preference. I personally love a good thunderstorm so was good to see, and now, its gone sunny again and about 23 degrees so at least its still warm.
  21. Just had what was possibly the heaviest rain I have ever seen, couple of roads were completely flooded, couple of flashes and some thunder .

  23. Nice to see some convection appearing on the radar
  24. Very hot outside, temperature up to about 25.5 degrees. Really hope to see a thunderstorm tonight, seems like we have a reasonable chance. Agreed, it seems like wednesday is the day where heavy thundery showers will be the most widespread from what I gather. Fingers crossed for some storms
  25. My local forecaster estimated 25 to 27 degrees reached here today, up to 24.6 degrees already so going to be very hot, reckon there will be showers around, its just how strong, widespread and where they hit thats in question. All makes for an interesting days weather . Edit: Up another 0.5 degrees in 15 minutes to 25.1 degrees.
