Great to come home to see the updates in the charts with regards to tomorrows event, NAE and NNM going for between 8 and 11mm of precipitation here, anything in that range would be fantastic, would be nice to get the day off school on monday. Would appear that everywhere in the region should see at least some snow tomorrow- 772 replies

If this area of green stretching to the coast keeps growing and moving north west, dare I say it, us in Cambs could be in for another hour or two of moderate snowfall- 796 replies

Was just out and still some very light snow here, radar shows some potentially slightly heavier stuff before it all finally clears away. Edit: Didnt notice the stuff over London too, maybe a little more very light snow later too then, would be good if it could intensify a little, although appears to be weakening so may fizzle out soon.- 796 replies

Snow stil coming down here, abeit lightly but probably at a rate of half a cm an hour or something so not going to complain if it keeps up for a few hours.- 796 replies

Haven't been able to post since lunchtime. The weather has been even better than I expected today. Been snowing since about 11:30AM and looks set to continue for a bit longer. Temperatures been below freezing all day and currently -1.5, so the good thing has been none of this "will it stick or not" rubbish, the first covering came from really light snow. Hard to tell the depth here now, probably around 2 inches, certainly more than I was expecting .- 796 replies

We have light snow rather than snizzle now, still far too light to settle though.- 796 replies

Very very light snow here, looks like rain, barely noticeable until the wind smacks it all into your face.- 796 replies

Nothing at all here, starting to think we won't see a whole lot here today, not that I was ever expecting a huge amount of snow.- 796 replies

If you don't have to commit as to whether or not to go for a few hours, then I would say wait a few hours and see what the radar situation is. It is still not really clear IMO as to whether or not we will see much snow, latest from the BBC really not going for much snowfall for our region.- 796 replies

could you post a link of where to find it please? Thanks

The closest weather station I know that might be of use is: http://www.peterboro...atherwatch.com/ . Your temperature does not sound quite right with temps like that, the above link saw temps remaining below freezing all day, which was the case for most as far as I know.

Lets just hope the Peterborough snow shield gets broken tomorrow Paul! Thinks aren't looking too bad for at least a little snow tomorrow for our region.

Shame the surprise band hasn't got as Far East as here, the midlands are reporting some heavy snow from it, a couple of CMs completely out of the blue for some and more to come.

Oh that didn't occur to me, most of the snow gone from earlier in the week except for on the grass here.
-
Have you got a dusting of snow at all from it?
-
Its heading this way and snowfall is likely particularly for the west of the region, a cover is a small possibility I'd say . Band appears to be intensifying at the moment, so one to watch, although the snow will only be very light (unless the intensification really keeps up), as is being reported in the east mids thread at the moment.

I would ignore the precipitation charts for now. Them changing again seems pretty likely IMO and, as always, this will come down, somewhat, to nowcasting.

Certainly, at 48 hours out, I'd say there is still time for a quite significant change in the positioning of the worst weather, although I'd say it is most likely that the west will do best.

Snizzle here and felt extremely cold. -1.5 currently. Excited for the prospects over the next few days, only concern is how far east the band of precipitation will get and also the weather we are left with after the event. Met Office with an interesting forecast for my location, light snow in every 3 hour slot for 48 hours from Friday Midday to Sunday Midday, will be watching the models with excited anticipation over the next couple of days .

Bloomin cold out there atm, looks like the next 2-3 days could see temperatures stay below 0 degrees. Looking at the met office forecast, they are predicting 36 hours of light snow from Friday through to Saturday, only just occurred to me that the next potential snow event is only 48 hours away.
