  1. Starting to get a little excited about the snow prospects for the weekend and beyond, although I have A level exams next week, so its not ideal timing for disruptive snowfall for me. Very pleased with this upgrade to the met office forecast, although its a too early to be set in stone I guess. Exciting times ahead
  2. Quite pleased, saw my first wintry precip this morning, heavy sleet. Shame not to have seen something better this week, but only the first week of December, so all to play for!
  3. BBC forecast just showed the precipitation to be about half snow and half rain over the east at 5AM tomorrow, could be interesting for some come the morning. Rain just about to arrive, conditions: Temp: 2.6 Dew Point: -0.9 Temperature too warm at the moment, although hasnt risen for the last 30 minutes which is good, just hope it can start falling again.
  4. im further north about half way between peterborough and huntingdon. Probably not west cambs but yeah, nothing here.
  5. woken up to the sound of......rain! Edit: think it's sleet, but I'm going back to bed, probably still going to be sleet/snow to see at 6:30 when I get up. You guys are impressive staying up for this!
  6. also keeping an eye on this. Is currently falling as sleet/snow over the midlands so can only imagine it would do the same if it got as far as us and maintained its strength. Seems to be heading my direction.Time for sleep, set the clock nice and early to see what's going on, fingers crossed for some snow .
  7. The precipitation over the Nottingham/derby area I had expected to die out, but instead it's grown and strengthened in the last hour, good sign perhaps as its moving this way I think.
  8. i would ignore these percentage things. This is all going to be done to now casting, I think we have a reasonable chance of something wintry tonight/tomorrow, 50:50 I'd say.
  9. Slowly getting colder here, conditions improving, although temps will inevitably rise once the precipitation arrives in the morning. Current Temp: 1.2°C High Temp Today:5.6°C at 11:00am Low Temp Today:1.2°C at 10:14pm Dew Point: -1.0°C Precipitation off the Irish coast slowly dying, chances of reaching this far east do seem slim, may just survive though.
  10. Met Office upgraded the forecast for my location tomorrow morning from 6 hours of light rain to: 06:00- Sleet 09:00- Sleet Shower Think I'm just clutching at straws Quick question, is the precipitation over Wales, the precipitation that we are expecting tomorrow morning, whether it be rain, sleet or snow, or is it something else?
  11. . Interesting, think my house is within your green circle by about half a mile, so I will take it as a definite that I will see snow tomorrow . Looking forward to potentially seeing some wintry precipitation tomorrow.
  12. I think there is the potential for a brief period of sleet/snow in the east before turning to rain, not expecting much this far south though. Think its all eyes on mid-week.
  13. Met Office acknowledging the chance of wintry weather sunday night/monday morning now, couple of sleet symbols from midnight to 6AM for my location, will be interesting to see how this develops, can't see any real snow this far south unfortunately on this occasion.
  14. Nothing but a few spots of rain hear, weather radar had moderate precipitation over my location earlier, but didn't see any real precipitation.
  15. Couple of showers/storms around here, nothing overhead but just heard some thunder.
  16. Judging by the radar, Wales and the SW has got hammered last night, has been pretty dry here overnight, expecting the band to shift east soon though so I should still get a soaking.
  17. 2.2mm of rain in the last hour here, of 2.3mm total so far today. Radar has been showing pretty heavy rain over my location for a while now, but it's all light to moderate.
  18. Started to rain here about 15 minutes ago, still very light. As much as I'd like to see some heavy rain, it looks like it could cause some real problems in the far south. About 20mm forecast here according to the chart a few posts back, should be enough to sort out the recent dry spell.
  19. OOOPPPs haha, meant of the USA, was in central Florida
  20. Looks like we had some good thunderstorms lately, thunderstorms pretty much every day of the 2 weeks while I was in the lightning capital of the world, sure was exciting . Had to fly through some large convection on the descent to manchester airport on saturday, made for some turbulent flying, thankfully the runway was clear otherwise it may have been a nervewracking landing.
  21. Been to Florida a couple of times before, once in may and once in August. Only really remember the trip in August 2010 as don't remember the trip in may 06 (too young). Remember seeing a number of impressive storms in Orlando over the 2 weeks and it was very hot, but I recall it not being unbearable. Going to Orlando on Saturday, so excited!
  22. Thunderstorm to my south west, can hear distant rumbles, looks as if it may miss me to my south. Interestingly a few grey clouds but no really dark clouds in the direction of the storm.
  23. Torrential rain here, massive rain drops, no thunder or lightning at the moment though. Came as a surprise as the shower to my west had looked like dying
