I certainly hope so, that would be a blessing. Thundersnow, Blizzards, tretcherous driving conditions = I dont have to visit anyone over the Christmas period. Bah Humbug.
Very windy indeed. Especially Northern England and the West... Not to mention Scotland, 945-965mb... Eesh... Windy Xmas.

Yes Shed,
I can't see any pattern, or any signal to stop the relentless mild flow. Once the UK seems to be locked in this pattern, it's always very difficult for any substantial cold to materialise. I dont know how long this will last for, but I know it won't be easy to get bitter temperatures back.
Yesterday was a barmy 13C here, I almost cut the lawn, twice.
It's hardly a ramp, just look at the devastation & people have died. The worst is yet to come with the tidal surges. Keep the updates coming everyone... Is there buoy data somewhere? Never mind, found it http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/maps/United_Kingdom.shtml
Yup, falling rapidly here too, snow showers around as well. So thats, Hurricane force winds, tidal surges to come, flooding, ice, snow, sleet, rain..... Who said the British Weather was boring??
It is damn serious alright. http://jyllands-posten.dk/indland/article6312237.ece West Coast of Jylland Denmark. It's going to be a storm to remember this one...
What are they going to do... Pull off a Gandalf the Grey and "Thou Shall Not Pass" kind of stunt? What these idiots should have done is had a Cobra meeting YESTERDAY and stopped all these idiotic, money grabbing companies, who care little for human life, HGV or other drivers, especially in Scotland from going out there. We already have one poor sod dead. But lets have a meeting as/after it's happening/happened.
This is misleading... The North of England isn't predicted to be bone dry. Just southern areas south of Birmingham with a few dry days.
I count 4 dry days for Southern Area's below :-)
Atacama it is not.
It's a damaging storm alright. Funny thing is, the news would rather waffle on about Nijelly Lawsuit and random things that don't really matter... Should really be warning people, especially in Scotland and the far North of England.
Yup, check out the predicted wind here: http://www.severe-weather-centre.co.uk/index.php?id=3268&L=0
It's not just the UK in the line either:
