  1. Here , Here.. Ian was very clear on a scandy high , we have never got even close to that forecast , cold spell yes , but absolutely no blocking whatsoever , so whats changed in a very short time...??? hopefully we can benefit from a few disturbances that may develop in this unstable northerly , other wise the south will just be cold but dry as I see it..
  2. Why were net weather predicting Northern blocking and a scandy high in there February forecast just 6 days ago ??? or is it just wishful thinking , I am guided by these winter forecasts as much as anything for the job I do (landscape gardening } .. Surely there must have been something going on in the atmosphere for there predictions ???
  3. Yes I can concur snow shield was broken after many months and years , nothing to get to excited about and nothing settled.. was nice to see some flakes falling though . now we r back to a bit of snizzle.. Air is very dry and cold temp is 2.2c.....
  4. Its over you mean before it ever started. It was only 5 days ago that Easterly's were being ramped wth streamers for the southeast.. you really cant afford to get excited on this forum , but most of US do.. I need to consider moving me thinks as it seems to be the same old lucky peps in the midlands that will benefit.. After spending the last 7 days wishing and hoping and upsetting the wife as I've spent more time on here than attending her needs, I now have had enough and will vanish until the next cold outbreak is promised but probably wont ever materialize.. ( sound glum don't I , Prozac at the ready ]. Think I might actually prefer a week of sun and mild than cold and grey [with no snow].. Adios for now !!
  5. Would I be right in thinking we would have snow showers piling in off the N.Sea for the east and South East if this came off ??
  6. Quite a few miles between North Oxfordshire and East Kent me thinks... Enjoy though...
  7. Blue skies , very frosty, temp -1.4 at moment ..... Any snow this winter would be a treat for my kids be in 1 or 20 cm... (after last YEAR}
  8. All I take from this is that once again Scotland,Wales,N.Irland are in for a pasting.. Wot about us snow starved SOUTH EASTERNERS..??????? Any chance of us getting even a few centimetres..
  9. I agree looking at that chart it all seems to be happening in mainland Europe and once again the u.k is in no mans land...
  10. Reluctantly I think you may be right. Still a way to go though in the output.. so hold on..
  11. Why is it so dam difficult to get bloody snow in our corner , 2 years and counting , The easterly's keep showing then backing off , it always seems to b in F1.. never actually happening , not of late anyway. Any thing coming from N/N.W Always seems marginal down in our corner without elevation. Unless we can get some real cold down to 2m level than its going to b a wet squib im afraid and I find this just as depressing as the rest of you.. I do however think the reason it keeps getting pushed back is that we could be in for a 91 style FEB....{ scandie high eventually)
  12. would snow showers feed across the South/SouthEast in this flow or would it be to slack..
  13. surely DPs would have a big influence . as long as they are sub zero -6 uppers would be o,k
  14. Not very upbeat in mods considering...doom and gloom and all because its not guaranteeing 3 weeks of snow and ice , only the week..
  15. I know doesn't look great does it , to get the fun here we need a good old Easterly wth snow showers off a warm North sea. These frontal situations always deliver inland , but rarely at the coast , I may be wrong and if so great.
  16. I have to say the S.E is looking dry....whilst the rest take a pasting
  17. Very good question !!! I would also like to know.. Also does anyone have up to date S.S.TS at this moment , could be crucial for us E.Kent coastal community .. Thank you in advance..
  18. why ??? The extreme S.E seems to have just as cold uppers as the rest of the u.k on this evidence. tell me if im wrong !.
  19. Yeah I suppose those charts do look good if you live in Yorkshire!!!!!!
