  1. That does show the problem, though. Our feed isn't as good and the big ppn is further south. That doesn't seem to give us huge amounts.
  2. 12z looks epic, though, again, EA in particular is favoured. My worry in these situations is that the low sits a little lower and our long-fetch feed gets cut off. That's what leads to major snow in SE and EA and dregs here.
  3. No, I don't go in there. It's what the GFS 00z charts are showing me (will look at 06z now). Have you looked at them?
  4. :::sigh::: So a load of daytime snow further south again, and the prospects for something decent for us from the E/NE next week receding,
  5. Charts I've seen suggest SE and EA getting the best from the conditions in 7 days. Are we going to get scraps again compared to them?
  6. Fair enough re. Teeside. We've had some decent falls and periods with 2 or 3 inches lying for a few days here, so I guess I was comparing it to that.
  7. To be fair, the pics I've seen on Twitter from other places don't amount to as much as we had here in Durham a couple of weeks ago. I think they just bang on about it more because they don't see as much of it as we do.
  8. It's not been too bad here in Durham. A number of falls with 2 periods with 2 or more inches lying. We've had better, of course, but also a lot worse (which was the winter about maybe 5 or 6 yrs ago when we had literally a dusting once in the entire winter? Worst I've known since I've been up here (15 years)).
  9. Wow. I'm in Gilesgate Moor just up the road. Went for a half hour walk. Started in lovely big flakes, snow everywhere, maybe an inch. After 20 minutes, more sleety snow, and just wet on all pavements, with what had been there melted. If the temp/DP doesn't drop overnight, this is going to be a non event for most places under 100m.
  10. Someone tell me that we really will see like 12 hours of continuous proper snowfall on Wed/Thurs here in Durham.
