  1. That very much applies to at least some of the people on this forum as well ................
  2. Actually I wouldn't mind that, it would save on the heating bills.
  3. It must also have a very basic display, just to show the outdoor temp and humidity (and maybe also the indoor temp and humidity, but the indoor readings aren't essential). Just to reiterate - nothing else on the display either, I see too many these days with overly 'busy' displays.
  4. Okay, but please add that to your profile.
  5. Please add your location to your profile so that we can see where you are from - we don't of course need your address, just your nearest town, city or even county.
  6. That of course depends where you live - in my part of the UK it has most definitely been changeable. For example so far today it's been fairly warm, sunny and breezy with just the odd brief shower so very pleasant on the whole. I've had a lot of days like this during July. There's been rainy days too of course. In other words I've found it to be changeable. I would say that, overall, July hasn't been terrible in my area.
  7. I'd still rather have our current changeable weather than their blistering heat.
  8. 21C here, cloudy but bright and even the sun is breaking through at times, light winds. Very pleasant.
  9. I feel that there are some who are making the weather out to be relentless rain and that's definitely not the case for most of the country. In my area for example I've had a mixture of fine weather and sometimes temps up to 21 or 22C, even this past week. That obviously isn't going to be the case for everyone but having kept an eye on the daily output I don't see many having days upon days of relentless rain. In other words let's try and paint an accurate picture - it's changeable, simple as that, some days will be good, others not so much. It's not all sunshine and warmth but neither is it all rain and cool temps. The forecast is along similar lines. I feel that many people's observations and forecasts are more reflective of their mood.
  10. People seriously need to stop taking notice of GFS's temp forecasts - they are, not to put too fine a point on it, absolutely crap (just like their rain forecasts) and are usually a few degrees too low. Your example 2M temp chart is also a forecast for a potential scenario that's NINE DAYS AWAY.
  11. I've had a surprising amount of days like that over the past few weeks, sometimes getting up to 23C, even though the forecast has often been for 18 or 19C. Some rainy days too of course, but it's been a good mix and excellent for the flora and fauna as well as my garden.
  12. Edited my post just before you posted.
  13. I quite like it, very moody and atmospheric ......... for winter. But yeah, blue skies, warm temps and light winds are far more preferable!
  14. I very much agree, so far 2023 is nothing compared to 2007 and 2012; some people really need to dial back their hatred of a bit of summer cloud and rain.
  15. And, just to remind those who aren't having a good time right now, it's not August yet.
  16. Enjoy what you have, don't worry about tomorrow's weather.
  17. I very much agree, the greenery is wonderful and a vast improvement on the brown and parched landscape of last month.
  18. That's more likely due to all of the earlier dry weather.
  19. Errrr ..... WHAT??? Did you read that in The Sun or some other part of the trashy media?
  20. This kind of statement absolutely befuddles me - it's not even August yet! September can also have very fine weather, even early to mid October. Then of course there's snow potential to look forward to, and then Spring and onto the next Summer.
  21. Given the often heated emotions on this forum, you can bet that it will be ...........
  22. Very bad idea IMO, by all means show the names of those who have liked a post in some way, but showing the names of those who have disagreed is going to cause some bad feelings. Compare and contrast to other boards, Reddit for example, where All likes and dislikes are 100% anonymous. Also remember that since the dislike feature was introduced some will have clicked on dislike when the names were anonymous, assuming it would stay that way. Now all of a sudden their anonymous votes are visible for all to see. To take it to an extreme, it's a bit like anonymously voting for a political party and later on the names of the anonymous voters are revealed.
  23. And yet neither ECM nor the GFS show it being as bad as that at the same time, there's different positioning on each of those too. In other words, it's a week away and still too early to be sure how that will develop. It may end up further north, weaker, etc. Wait and see and don't assume the worst based on one run from one model.
