  1. Can only assume more of a southerly component to the winds at the north western locations for a foehn effect.
  2. Sadly I don't see much of any of this last band of snow reaching the city with anything bar a flake in the wind, the chase for the next cold spell has already started, a week of normal or slightly above temp wise to get through first
  3. Somewhere on a line between Keith and Aboyne must be seeing big totals of snow falling this evening.
  4. The dark blob to the nnw of Orkney looks like it's going to develop into a very intense shower, wether it hits landfall or not is debatable.
  5. I'd rather it was further east for selfish reasons onlylowering my expectations for the city now to a cm at most
  6. I'd take 4cm,if the showers to north align and survive the journey someone's going to get a good amount.
  7. Is it such a brief reversal that impacts down here are slight if any? I'd rather get a cold spell through teleconnections than gamble on what happens above
  8. Scott took a bit of a bashing(totally undeserved) because it failed to deliver down south, I'm not sure what they were expecting. This has a far better building foundation than the feeble greeny high which rarely delivers the goods
  9. Good to see, this was the thinking of a few members with regards background drivers without aid of assistance from an SSW of any type,if I recall
  10. A few showers moving in from the north West not sure how far across they ll get
  11. Can't beat seeing the sky go bright orange when the snow gets heavybeefy shower over the city just now.
  12. Think your in the ideal location for the snow today and to your west, further east missing much of today's snow so far.
  13. Im still hoping for a northerly shift in the winds to bring us more to the Eastern part of the Shire and city but not sure it's going to happen, though the met have more falling overnight and tomorrow fingers crossed
  14. Looks like the - 10c 850hpa has reached the northern Isles, a couple of hours should see most of us covered by them, I wonder if we see the - 12c 850hpa approaching. Expecting a little bit more northerly component in the flow in the next 18 hours (from an imby point of view)
  15. I see a brief warm up over the weekend, round 2 will show itself in the models soon, round 2 having much more punch and depth of cold, the background signals are very encouraging, of note the EC 46 hasnt performed well in the last few months. Think by mid February you, ll get a few cathartic runs in the snow
  16. Even at Cairngorm summit temps rise to 2c by 9am so I'd imagine 4 or 5c at the lecht
