  1. It's fine powdery stuff too, the dps have finally dropped below 0c here the - 9c 850hpa is covering most of scotland now. Temp currently 1.6c after being 4.7c an hour ago.
  2. A friend in Shetland sent me this photo earlier this morning.
  3. I think it may well be early Monday morning before we see dew points drop enough for snow, winds turning to a nnw by around dawn.
  4. Well that was a roller-coaster journey this week in the Madhouse . The cold air arrives later today for us in the north and north east, though we will get snow showers it's setting up to be a drier airflow than originally hoped for Tuesday to Thursday especially so, tonight and Monday seeing the best chances of lying snow more so with elevation, have a feeling after a brief mild blip we will see a 2nd attack of cold air next week. Enjoy the next few days.
  5. I'd say you should start seeing the white stuff by Sunday afternoon, showers becoming increasingly wintery, then for the rest of the week ahead snow showers at times frequent and heavy
  6. As Quinach says a keener wind today, the earlier rain band this morning mostly disappeared before passing the east coast giving a spit or two in places but zero to many places in the north east, a very dry month so far just 6mm, no real signs of anything of note in the next 10 days. Currently 9.3c
  7. Veil of high cloud approaching from the south west to take away another pretty clear skied day here in the North east, not anticipating much precipitation in these parts bar a little drizzle in the next few days. Farmers fields are drying nicely.
  8. One of those days the north east corner of Scotland saw blue skies for much of the day, cooler than yesterday at 10. 6c but still warm in the sun.
  9. 13.4c in my end of Aberdeen real warmth in the sun, I wonder what conditions will be like this time next monthmaybe.
  10. 15.1c in Aberdeen might get a little warmer yet before the afternoons out.
  11. It's good for a laugh though. They seem to forget any form of SSW hasn't fully happened yet so won't be showing in any nwp models yet surely?
  12. Fingers crossed the GFS18z verifies, some places might get buried. Looking good for the ski slopes for sure.
  13. Think we, ll see a change to a sleety mix in the city in an hour or so , hopefully not though. Temp 1c dp - 1c better accumulations than I expected, shame all we had last week was washed away last Friday/Saturday
  14. Light snow for now in the city with heavier stuff imminent, heavy stuff now on here, roads covered again
  15. Good chance of more frequent snow showers later this evening and overnight, especially the north and north east I'd not be surprised if a few make it further south over the mountains.
  16. Might get get extremely slippy in places after tomorrow morning where places have had a mix of rain sleet and snow when the colder uppers push in for the next few days. Some double digit negative temperatures for sure where snow cover remains inland.
  17. Sleet/wet snow in Aberdeen Temp 1.1c dp 1c maybe it, ll wash the ice off the pavements, about all its good for.
  18. If I was being picky I'd love the 850hpa at the - 10c mark to help take away any marginal precipitation along the coasts. A mix of everything today in Aberdeen, seems similar for the next few days here. Oh to be inland and with elevation. Dear Santamake it so.
  19. Can see this front hitting Dundee 7.30am onwards I wonder if it will keep some of its intensity.
