  1. I suppose the one plus in the coming week is no more wakening for the 0zs, checking the radar every two minutes, looking out the curtains checking to see the lampost and that real snow is falling after the last month it will be nice to get a full night's sleep
  2. Weak signal at the moment but it's a start, the meto long range still favours a return of the cold ,I think we just have to go through this phase of milder stuff first I don't see much precipitation after today and the wind will drop right out so it should feel quite pleasant, then the cold can come back for its final go
  3. Raw day in Aberdeen slow melt so far T 3.1c dp 1.1c,looking at the models I can't see much chance of a return to cold stuff for a good 10-14 days but no real sign of the Atlantic returning either. The block has us on the other side of it this time but it doesn't take much to be on the right side again, plenty blocking is still favoured through March too.
  4. Last snow this cold spell for the city just now 0.3c /-3c dp
  5. Last few hours of very low dewpoints for a while -7dp in Aberdeen and a temp of 1.1c
  6. I rarely take notice of the lightest pink in the snow radar only the darker stuff
  7. I think it will be a little cooler than that so hopefully a slow melt
  8. A few flakes from now on but that's it for the city those in the shire especially north Aberdeenshire will have fun for an hour or so yet and Moray too
  9. Yes will fade off quickly after 10pm and it's on its way to Caithness
  10. Still not much falling here it splits and the main intensity of the shower goes elsewhere ,as altostratus said Kingswells has been hit as per normal my brother lives there they always get the best of it near the city the 150m of elevation really helps them with shower intensity
  11. Not really maybe other parts of the city it's edging past me to the east annoyingly
  12. Heavy snow in the city I think we should see the last of it for the night by 11pm longer for inland locations in the north east
  13. Went to secondary school in Stoney a March snowstorm in 1979 I still remember watching it fall all day from the classroom window thinking this is badwe got stuck in town sent to Stoney pupils overnight
  14. Gentle snow with flakes taking an age to fall it's amazing what a difference dewpoints make its 1.2c and -4dps last week this was heavy rain as dps were above 0c
  15. I see a freezing rain treacherous ice warning just issued for many parts of Scotland for tomorrow 9pm to Sunday 9pm
  16. I'd say a few light ones the heavier stuff stays south of the city though the odd heavier one can't be ruled out the Aberdeenshire/Angus border area seems the place to be early evening,I only go in the mad house at 11pm for a brief check
  17. The one good thing about the upcoming thaw is I can finally get on with decorating the bathroom that was paused at the start of this cold spell
