Cheshire gap streamer still my fave I did note someone earlier saying they hoped even the scilly isles gets some snow as they always miss out

Latest UKMO out and it’s looking and potentially for some next week. With a cold notherly potentially moving round to a cold North Easterly…..but it’s just a model and Mother Nature will do whet it wants to do. As long as we get a decent spell of dry weather with cold I think most north of Carlisle would be pleased

I had a peep in there his morning and quickly left feeling depressed I have family south of London in Epsom and it’s never proper Scottish cold down there, so never understand why the mad thread gets so worked up about cold and snow….if you want it that bad…move up north

Well a disappointing cold spell on the snow front. Had a few ice days cold and frosty with blue skies and light winds which made a nice change from the usual wind and rain. Currently 5°c and bright. The mad house is quiet today, must all be nursing hangovers after drowning their sorrows 12-14 days time like likely to be next cold spell arriving

Meant to add the meto has updated there latest musings to something a little more wintery without saying it’s going to snow hopefully get a some but being right on the coast does nothing to help the cause!!

brilliant. I’m playing my own MOD thread bingo this….waiting to see how long before someone mentions “Cheshire gap streamer” and gets a bit excited

Been mulling about here for a number of years,mainly in winter I must add. I know the MAD house is predominantly made up of our southern friends, but why isn’t there more Scot’s in there or are we just more accepting that we will likely get cold and snow at somepoint

Only way to describe today is honking!! Absolutely honking!!! Chucking it down with rain, cold miserable day. Looks like we might get some dry weather over next few days.

Looks likely we will be caught between spells of “milder” not warm air and cold air from The north bringing some wintry mix for the foreseeable….pleasant in the sunshine today all be it with a chilly breeze. Agree that it would be nice now to say to winter and get some warmth back

Just a light sleet to snow to sleet shower looking at radar….well, lamp post watching will be a long night with little excitement

DP is 2.7c currently with temp of 5c in Newburgh (Aberdeenshire) at the coast

It’s taken it’s fair Time to shift. Took a wander over the golf course today and still A fair bit there too. I’ve seen it snow here and be gone by lunch time, head a few miles up the road and it’s carnage

Now if this actually came off tomorow night everyone would be happy…snow from 10pm Saturday through till 6am before turning to rain if I was a betting’ man I’d be down the bookies saying “20quid on this not happening” oh to dream!!! anyways…lovely cold crisp blue skies here. Currently 2c but feeling earlier in the sun out the wind. Has another few dandruff showers last night covering the road and grass again. Jnr’s snow man is still standing and holding on strong so at least he’s happy

Just to show everyone showered can pop up at any point. Just opened the curtains to another heavy shower, nothing expected to fall out the sky untill Sunday at best but a nice streamer off the sea has brought another top up

Also noted this earlier. I think is a small area of LP that comes in from North west and sweeps through late Saturday into Sunday which I can only assume is what beeb were speaking about. Fingers crossed

Meto don’t even mention this, and bbc has sleet/rain for Sunday into Monday for up here. Don’t think we will know much more until it comes into proper range of the UK hi res (so late Friday into Saturday) before they start to firm up on it. IF it turns out to be accurate some folks could see 12-18 hours of snowfall from it…..won’t get a mention in he mad house though

Beautiful morning in Aberdeenshire/Aberdeen. Managed a low of -7.9 whcih is incredible for me on the coast in Newburgh. Currently -2c in the sunshine, but if feels bitter

Just had another streamer pass through here covering roads again. Wasn’t expecting anything more today, but a pleasant surprise. Marked drop in temps since sun went down, going to venture out for a wander with shortly
