  1. I would be happy with a mild, dry winter. Or a cold, snowy winter. Or a cold, dry winter. Anything but rainy and stormy.
  2. The climate has warmed substantially since the 80s though so it's no surprise that the threshold for cold spells has been lowered substantially as well. Likewise summer heatwaves in the 80s wouldn't be a big deal today - back then exceeding 30C in Leeds was a notable occasion, but now it's something that happens every year. Just how things are now.
  3. Down to -2C already here. Possibly down to -5C tonight. Freezing fog is also forecast, so I think there's a chance of an ice day tomorrow if the freezing fog persists.
  4. A low of -3.4C this morning, currently 2.3C. Brr.
  5. Exactly. Only Americans would be confused.
  6. Looking forward to the next few days of sunshine and frost. Shame there won't be much if any snow on offer but that's okay, still too early anyway.
  7. August 2022 was the warmest on record for some areas to be fair.
  8. We'll get our first snowfall in November occasionally - like 29th November 2021 and 9th November 2016. Not common at all though.
  9. I think we do pretty well for snow here to be honest. Further east towards York is s different story.
  10. Looks fairy chilly in the Nordics and Baltics over the coming few days. Oslo, Stockholm and Helsinki recorded highs of -0.4C, -0.3C and -1.3C respectively on Wednsday/Thursday. Meanwhile we'll be lucky to have a single night below freezing for the rest of this month...
  11. It’s been much wetter than a normal autumn.
  12. November has seemed quite sunny so far - no complaints from me.
  13. To be fair, Scandinavians actually refer to Europe as a separate entity like we do. People from Sweden or Norway going on holiday to France or Spain will say they're 'going to Europe' or 'going to the continent'. I suppose it's because it's quite detached from the rest of Europe.
  14. One actually dived into my garden last year, attempting to get some leftover chicken I gave to the crows & magpies. It was quite the sight!
  15. We had a heavy shower around 11am but it’s been a pleasant day barring that, long sunny spells. It was lovely watching the red kites dance around in the sky. Feel very fortunate to live in an area with so many!
  16. Nice day after a few showers this morning, currently mostly sunny and 10C
  17. 12C and sunny, perfect November weather. I’d take this weather all winter tbh.
